When you have to sell a player that you really don't want to (FM/CM-centric)
I started playing on my old school Inter Milan game (CM01/02) a little while ago.
Picture the scene:
-It's the 2025/26 season
-AC Milan are the best team in Europe
-Me as Inter Milan are there biggest rivals and not just for the obvious reasons.
-They've won 4 of the last 5 league titles.
So I'm building a team to challenge AC on all fronts and this season was going amazingly well. I was top of the league, in the Quaters of the Champions League and due to play AC in the final of the Italian cup. Things were really looking up.
Then my favourite player hands in a transfer request, a player that I've grown very attached to (you CM/FM fanatics know how this can happen).
He wants a new challenge, nothing I can do and I feared that this day would come.
The player:
-Christian Bennetti, 28 years old, left midfielder.
-Most valuable player in the world at £23.5m.
-Bought him as a 16 year old for £200k from non-league side Sorrento.
He's the most consistently brilliant, professional player and I've nurtured him and watched him mature from a young boy.
He's leaving to join Roma for £23.5m (I tried to get £28m but they wern't prepared to pay that much)
