Ebay Ethical Question
I'm going through one of the occasional periods where I play computer games. So I fired up Ebay and purchased Call of Duty 4 for about £11. Without even thinking, I clicked on Buy It Now and went about my business.
So a couple of hours later I get an e-mail from the seller informing me that the item would take "1-2 weeks" to arrive; "maybe more" as apparently it was a "busy season".
This baffled me somewhat as in addition to the £11 for the item itself, there was also a £6.99 P&P charge. I reasoned that it was a charge for special delivery - how else would it be that it costs £6.99 to send something the size of a small paperback across any part of the UK?
I put this to the seller. He gave me some bullshit which prompted me to check out his feedback score. There was a hefty amount of negative feedback claiming that the items were being shipped from Hong Kong, contrary to the shop description.
The rub: I received the game this morning, a couple of days before schedule. But I'm still not happy about the subterfuge. What feedback should I give?
a) Positive (after all, the game was cheap, it works and it arrived fairly quickly)
b) Negative (the guy lied)
c) Neutral (... the guy LIED)
