Was never appealed to watch this film, despite my Joy Division manic obsession around my 14th/15th year.
But everyone loved it and the reviews were universally positive.
I watched it at Glastonbury. What I saw was a Northern, working-class drama about a pair of lovebirds, slightly into music. It seemed like they chucked a few bits of songs in there too, and filmed it in black and white, so as to keep with the Anton Corbijn thing and to please the 'alternative' critics.
But how flipping boring was it? It could have been about anyone. It just so happened that the man was Ian Curtis, who was in a band and had epilepsy.
Call me cold, but I couldn't give a bog roll about Ian Curtis' (or anyone else's) love life. I was told it was a 'biopic'. Bullshit. Its the sob-story of how the Curtis' marriage broke down.
PS. Its also boring as sin.
