how aloof is too aloof? i may be in trouble
My work persona is probably best described as aloof - disinterested in most people and their petty troubles, happy to make little or no contribution to conversation, and when consulted I generally have to ask what I'm being consulted about, despite being officially part of the conversation. Now this is partly just me, and partly cos I don't like anyone in my office and don't care in the slightest who they are and what they did/watched last night. But does this make me rude? or just aloof. I'm pretty sure I'm allowed to be quiet and reserved, but im running the risk of looking shy, which sucks. But I cant say 'Im not shy - I just hate you all' can i? But how can i respect someone who 'moshed' to Keane at V? Or someone who's organising an office-wide Eurovision party on the night of Dot-to Dot.
