Championship Manager (old-school-centric)
I'm still a fan of the old games, I still play them even now.
Lets show off about our greates CM achievements and teams.
My greatest team. It was essentially an experiment to see if I could create an unbeatable team and I did pretty much.
Inter Milan (CM 01-02) playing 3-5-2 attacking.
Toldo (GK)
West (DC)
Materazzi (DC)
Nesta (DC)
Zambrotta (DML)
J.Zanetti (DMR)
Mendieta (MC)
Vieira (MC)
Totti (AMC)
Shevchenko (FC)
Jardel (FC)
This was the team that won 31 and drew 3 in a league season without losing, it was even immune to those games where it seemed you could never win. i.e. you have 33 shots and their average GK plays a blinder, they have 1 shot and score.
My current Scunthorpe team that reached the Champs League Semi-Final. (99-00, playing 3-5-1-1)
Carroll, Roy (GK)
Dillon, Paul (DC)
Dailly, Christian (DC)
Dunne, Richard (DC)
Robinson, Paul (DML)
Laurie, Carl (DMR)
Housham, Steve (MC)
Walker, Justin (MC)
Koogi, Anders (MC)
Tsartas, Vasilias (AMC)
Browne, Stafford (SC)
How this team ever reached the semi-final of the Champions League I'll never know. We're basically play Bolton-esque hardworking no nosense football and it works a treat.
Such a cheap team no-one cost over £1.1m.
Other notable achievements are winning the Chamions League with Lecce after 5 or 6 seasons (I forget exactly) and winning the same competition 4 years running with Real Betis, this was about 12 years in the future and at that time my 4 spanish job.
The same game included 2 consecutive UEFA cups with Celta Vigo and another with Numancia who I got promotion with. The eurpopean place was earnt by beating Villareal in the Cup final the year I got promoted. When I first joined Numancia I went on an unbeaten run that ended after 52 games over 2 seasons, what's all this about giving managers time. :)
Anyone else want to post their achievements/experiences?
