Hillsborough
Without being a mawkish blah I always take time out of my day to remember the Hillsborough disaster as a Liverpool fan and someone who lived as a smug student in the city for four years. It never really 'came home' to me how strong the feeling was about the whole sorry affair until I lived there and its something that hangs over the city at this time of year like a deathly pall whether youre a football fan or not.
I also remember the utter disgust at 'fellow' students who quite happily read The Sun, which was hard to buy anyway due to the mass boycott of the paper after the stories they printed - some people just have no soul. Anyway that's my reflection - what I was doing 'on the day' doesn't matter as it doesn't alter any facts does it?
