The '... of the Dead' films.
The first one of these I saw was the 2004 version of Dawn of the Dead. I liked it quite a lot. It was similar to 28 Days Later, in that it started off like one of the best things I've ever seen and then almost turned into one of the worst.
I watched the original shortly afterwards and can recall thinking it stank. It looked like a comedy. The zombies looked like Thriller zombies, and they just sort of lingered around, not really doing anything.
But Romero is always hailed as fantastic, so I thought I'd give him a chance. The other night, the recentest version of Land Of The Dead was on, which Romero had some role in making.
Easily the second worst film I've ever seen, after The Football Factory. I couldn't believe what I was seeing. I had to stop watching it before the end, but my brother informed me that in the last scene, the hero and the Leader of the zombies share a glance, and agree to leave eachother alone.
So. George Romero. So far, you have succeeded in offending me extremely, and I think you're a dreadful film-maker.
