Why won't my PC start properly?
My PC will always restart fine but when starting from cold will never boot first time. The blue blocks that count across the screen as XP loads stop at some random point and then stay stopped until I hit reset. I might need to do this anywhere between 5 and 20 times before it will go all the way through.
This problem started after a new motherboard was fitted by a local shop. I had a disastrous time with the shop and am long past the taking it back to them stage so please don't suggest that.
I've reinstalled the OS and since upgraded to XP (I was running 2000 when the problem first occurred). Does this sound like a BIOS problem?
To my non-technical mind the fact that it starts ok when warm seems to be significant but this could be a red herring.
Any ideas?
Thanks in advance.
