are you career driven?
or is it just any old job, to pay the bills, and let you enjoy yourself outside of work?
I'm not career driven and I'm not sure i ever will be. But then I'm not currently doing anything that has a long term interest for me, so maybe if I was doing something I enjoyed I would want have more interest in developing my "career". I think it would help to have some sort of passion for what you are doing.
Is it fair to say some careers actively make people more career driven (things like in PR agencies where you get Junior Account Executive -> Account Exec -> Account Manager etc) or do you have to be career driven to go down that route in the first place?
Would it make a difference to your relationship with someone if they were either really career focused or the opposite and didn't really care what they did?
I can't even remember why i started thinking about this. Just wondering how people get far along in jobs that seem so ridiculously boring, particularly in the public sector, where everything takes an age to get done and you're so far removed from the end results in many cases. Stupid jobs huh.
I'm expecting not many "yeah I'm career driven" posts from people who spend their days on here, but maybe i'll be wrong.
