Lotto Rapist Saga.
Let us suppose you went out and raped an old lady. You are caught, put on trial and sent down for 16 years. After 16 years you emerge from prison, your debt to society apparently served and buy a lottery ticket.
The ticket is good and you win a lot of money. You are now rich scum.
The old lady now decides that in the light of The Sun finding out about your win and trumpeting it across the land, you haven't been punished enough. Moreover, that the £5000 she was awarded in compensation for the crime you committed against her wasn't enough in the light of your new found wealth. So now she comes back and forces another legal hearing in which the possibility is raised that your winning lottery ticket - purchased after your release from jail - constitutes ill-gotten gains and that it is her who in fact deserves most of the money.
Is this:
a) Just? Or
b) Dodgy?
YOU DECIDE!
