old people are GREAT
whenever my mate mary see's it's raining and blustery outside and we comment on it, she screws her face up and wobbles her wrinkly chin, breathes heavily though her teeth and makes lots of 'ooooooh eeeeeeeeeh' sounds while shaking her head as if the weather was awfully rude. it's mega cute.
my nan used to make sandwiches out of snowflakes (those marshmallow creations encased in dessicated coconut covered chocolate and....mackerel.
"can i have a snowflake please oldie?"
"only if you have it in a sandwich with mackerel, you can have some cheese in it too!"
a trip to the village for her shopping would take HOURS and she'd introduce me to people thus "this is my grand-daughter sophia, she's a FATTTTTIEEEEEEE" i didnt find that so endearing. i did love sitting next to her while she went on and on about people i didnt know, and playing with the wriinkly skin on her arms.
she was contrary and anomalous and i miss her :(
the lollypop man! he was very old and he was everyones favourite lollypop man when i was at school. he had a hat which he used to decorate with feathers, so if you ever found a good one, you'd keep it for him.
i still see him around the village from time to time, feathers in his hat, friendly smile on his face :)
old people are FANTASTIC
