New Hampshire (and Beyond)
What are your thoughts on the US presidential race at this point?
I am kind of hesitant to bother with this thread, as I would expect there to already be a post-New Hampshire thread (I did see the prediction thread and... the HiLOLry thread) if DiSers were non-passingly interested in discussing it here (and that is not a dig or anything; I would not expect DiSers to be more than passingly interested in it--and that is not a dig either), but... I will just start it short.
Sooo, it was a full on nail-biter. (For the unupdated: Hillary beating Obama was a big upset. Of course, this was the leading prediction a while back, but more recently it's been that New Hampshire will go to Obama. Obama's camp certainly thought so.) I'm not surprised that it was this close, but I was hoping Barack would win. Anyway, I don't think it's a major loss; I think just coming close to Clinton here is a (lesser) victory. And the biggest impression that I took away from the evening was that Obama has won. But that's just a feeling more than anything; the truth is I am more unsure than ever of who will take this race. We'll see how it all looks come morning. But even with Clinton's win, the night was filled with more beaming than frowning for me. That sounds cheesy, but it is actually very important.
And on the other side of things, McCain very nearly swept the state. Though, all things considered, I don't think he really had a terrible lead overall.
Also, lol at Giuliani barely beating Ron Paul. Though I wish Giuliani actually could win the Republican nomination, so the Democratic candidate could more easily win the election. In my dreams.
Those interested, please gush excitedly/post further uncomprehensive assertions below. Or, for the wholly uninterested, give me an idea as to what your views as a casual outside observer are.
THIS IS ALL I CAN THINK ABOUT. (More or less.)
