Are you under 25 and sexually active?
If so there's a 1 in 10 chance you have chlamydoa.
That was what the poster in my GP's surgery said anyway.
Now this isn't a huge issue for me as no-one ever wants to sleep with me anyway but isn't that poster a tad scare-mongering? I mean statistically it might be right but it's not gonna be a random thing either is it?
I mean obviously any indivual under 25's chances of having it out'll average out at 1 in 10 but massively increase or decrease in terms of number of times you have sex, how many different people, what protection you use, whether you've listed "people with chlamydoa" in the "who you'd like to meet" of you're Match.com profile etc.
I'm aware posters and stuff have to keep things fairly simple but isn't that just out right misleading?
On a related but irrelavant note I once had a fierce argument with a flatmate in Greenpeace over some anti-milk stickers he had that just read "there's something scary in the dairy" but didn't elaborate as to what they were protesting against, which I thought was an unpleasant unnessary fear-creating tactic.
