2 months into a new job and I've got my first telling off:

Not really the right tone to use when dealing with the Sales Director…..I know Margaret Stevens may have been quite stroppy but it doesn't help the situation to send an email like this to Sales.

The tone of my email was apparently not polite enough. Didn't realise I had to grovel every time I have a question. It's actually my first telling off of any kind in any job.
It's strangely liberating. Stick it to the man (in a very, very mild way).
What's the best response to send?
