quitting university
I am quitting university tomorrow (crappy Falmouth journalism course), and currently writing my letter of complaint...not really sure how to approach it - should I go all out and list all the faults and everything I don't like, including my dislike of some of the lecturers and their teaching methods, or should I be more subtle and generalise?
Bad points of the course include:
-It's easier than doing bloody GCSEs
-We have the same lesson EVERY week on writing in "inverted pyramid" style
-The lectures are often disorganised and unprepared
-The people on the course are vile (which is obviously not the lecturers' fault), but there are a lot of really screamy giggly shrill girls, and their behaviour is encouraged by the lecturers, who find them funny.
-We get hardly any feedback on work at all, and the little feedback that is given is just copied and pasted throughout the group with the appropriate person's name at the top.
-We are taught in either the full group of 60 or so, or in groups of 30 - when in the half-sized groups, we are often put in rooms which can't accomodate that many people.
-We were given a FUCKING SPELLING TEST last week, as people couldn't diffrentiate between they're, their and there...!
-We have about 11 hours of scheduled teaching time per week, but that's often cut short as they think people can't hack sitting in a room for 2 hours.
-A lot of our "teaching" takes place on computers, but most of the staff don't actually know how to work a computer...we upload stuff to Blogger to be marked, and most of the lecturers don't know how to use it for comments, formatting etc.
