Bouncers???
Honestly, is their a lower form of human being?
229 last night, new venue in great portand st, I venture out to see the Rakes at a new clubnight. I get a call and go to see why my friends hadn't been let in. Guy wouldn't tell me and starts shouting at me. I ask him, really politely (anyone here who has met me would know I'm almost patronisingly polite), why they've not been let him again and to not raise his voice. He then tells me not to tell him how to act, picks me up, drags me 40metres or so, telling me if I resist he's gonna beat the shit outta me and then throws me into a lamp post. I mean, c'mon, how on earth is that justified? I'm the complete anithesis of agressive.
So I call the cops and complain, they take reports and repeatedly ask me if I need an ambulance. Eventually they said the guy thinks we're all too drunk and the policeman can tell, quite clearly that we're barely merry, let alone drunk and so we try to get back in, which I admit was a little silly but mostly I wanted them to be able to justify not letting me back in. On confronting the doormen I simply wanted to know what my friends and I've done wrong, none of the bouncers can tell me any good reason why I'm not allowed in, just that I'm not and several witnesses are still there, utterly shocked and I'm refused entry, with no good reason. It's one thing how humiliating that all was and another how totally irrational the whole thing was with no good reason and no-one standing to gain anything.
I mean, what the fuck is the world coming to when you get treated like that, at an indie night full've of pasty skinny kids, somewhat sleepily after a long day/week at dis, by some huge guy!? I honestly can't believe it and am wondering if anyone knows what kinda charges I can press? Or if they've had same experience at that venue?
What's your worst bouncer related story?
