The presence of old Simpsons writers on it is pretty obvious sometimes, and i'm sure that if it wasn't a cartoon it'd be spoken about as one of the greatest sitcoms ever.
The writing is so understated that it might take a while to get into, but it's so relentlessly brilliant once you do. It's kinda fitting that it started as the Simpsons started getting shitty, and i guess as it's now had over 200 episodes and had a twelfth season confirmed you could actually say it's more consistent than the Simpsons is/was.
I'm really surprised it's actually lasted this long, as there's so much that you just don't notice on the first viewing.
