Sausages: Anti-Nostalgia
As part of my ongoing 'Positivity Season'.
Don't you remember, when you were little, sausages were these perfectly cylindrical brown slugs of vaguely meat-infused bread? (Unless you lived on a farm or a Hovis advert or something I expect. I bet you lived on a farm. Not all of us can be born with a combine harvester in our mouths, ok?)
But yeah anyway, now they're meaty and curved so they don't roll around too much on the grill pan and you get different flavours like pancetta and parmesan and carrot and coriander and they come in little gift wrapped parcels with pictures of smiling butchers on the front.
Yay for the EU/Jamie Oliver/New Labour or whatever made that happen.
So, what other things used to be actually fairly rubbish now you come to think about it, but are now fantastic?
