the greatest thing I've ever written
S,
I have received your claim form this morning and there are two small problems which I expect can be easily rectified.
Firstly you have listed your estimated outturn for the year as £105,563. Your official allocation from us is £103,521. I assume that you have included your agreed carry forward in this total which has lead to the discrepancy. You should leave the total on the draw down form as agreed for your specific 2007-08 grant. The carry forward amount - which you should already have 'in the bank' - will be picked up in the end year audit.
However the amount you have listed on the form does not, in fact, add up to what I have on file as your grant allocation 07/08 + carry forward. In G's letter of 14th June an amount of £1,869 was agreed. Added to your original grant this would make £105,390, not £105,563. I mention this only to make sure the correct carry forward has been agreed. Is this a simple miscalculation on your part or is the actual carry forward bigger than originally thought?
In any case I would be grateful if you could forward a new claim form which shows the estimated outturn as being £103,521 - your original allocation. It may be that you also choose to reduce the amount claimed, as the £25,880 claimed on the form is a quarter of the incorrect amount noted above.
Hope this makes sense. Please give me a call if you need to discuss this.
Many thanks
Andrew
