i found out recently that my grandmother had possibly one of the saddest love lifes i've heard...
when she was younger, her first fiance was killed in the second world war.
then, she met and fell in love with a canadian pilot - who was unfortunately married. they decided they couldn't be together, he returned to canada. and she became so depressed that she was hospitalised.
then, she met and got engaged to a man named peter wildeblood. for those not in the know...

she went to visit his relatives in somerset or suchlike, and he was suddenly called away to london. his aunt took her aside and said 'there's something you need to know... peter is a homosexual'
and so, she called it off.
then she worked at the tory office in leeds (i think) where she met my grandad. they were married for only 20 years, when he died of a heart attack.
apparently, she thought she was a very boring person.
have you ever heard stories like these about your relatives, and wonder what your future children/childrens children etc may think about your life now?
