Grown up job advice sought please.
Ok I have a bit fo a work dilemma – before ‘Chrimbo’ (God I am just SO scouse aren’t I?) I was offered an ace job to start Jan 16 which has a really good ‘package’ but is slightly slightly dull. Anyway a day later I was offered a less secure role working for a charity that started last week that I decided to do for a few days purely for money reasons. However as the time comes to leave to start the ‘swanky but dull’ job next week, I’m finding it really hard to leave here as the people are fantastic, there’s no dress code, its nearer to my home, it has more grown up responsibilties BUT its purely temporary and could END at any minute.
Bear in mind that both roles are ‘managing’ communications stuff so there’s no real difference between the roles.
SO, do I risk it and stay here even though its insecure,
OR, do I start the job I intended (I will at least be incharge of running something even if it is dull, but is that what work should be about?) and let the people down here who are so lovely I can’t bear to let them know I’m going.
The money is the same so that isn’t a decider – Oh Help Me Rhonda!
PROLE DISCLAIMER: None of this means that Ive given up my hapless and tragi-comic popstar/media personality/music and culture sociologist/bastard face dream so don't worry I will still be deranged and embittered to the grave just in case you though I was turning into 'Clive from Accounts' or something.
