Boris @ the Underwold, Camden
This was wonderful, i'm not sure why anyone has not written about this.
They were incredible, rocking more than I imagined. Five or six tracks from the new "Pink" LP or something similar, it is still hard to tell, until they started droning, lovely - a little bit on the touch quiet for my liking - they made everything bbbrrrr. Which is always a good thing clearly.
I am so into the guitarist at the moment, Wata, incredibly cool, she plays some of the only screaming metal guitar solos that a sorta indie boy like me can appreciate.
It's not so much that, but the bass that really gets to me. The band screamed and pounded all night yet there was something else, a knowing of how to play this kind of music that was so extraordinary, so magical.
I think they are the best noise band around right now. They seem to have truly come of age. Masterful and a sheer delight.
