            Again, I'd rather act like a Moron on TV (yet get to meet lots of bands I like.. even if they are average emotionless pop bands if I liked that sort of thing) and earn loads of money..

            Than work 9-5/6 in an office.

            And I quite like the idea of irritating thousands and thousands of teenagers. Most teenagers are completley irritating, so they deserve to feel some of that irritation they cause those around them.

                I LOVE Colin Murray, I met him and talked to him for three hours,he's one of my idols. However,differences aside, I hate Zane too, bastard.Colin sed that the way he acts on air is not how he's like in real life at all, FAKE TWAT. That sed, im in such a good mood tonite, im listenin to him and likin it!! weird but hey. more reasons to hate him tho 1.he took over colin's dream job (colin sed it was his dream job) 2. he doesn't like the Darkness' music, my other idols.

      MTV2 could do with getting another presenter or two other than him, he's all over the place. So as well as overplaying videos and overhyping bands, they overuse Zane.

      Eddie Temple-Morris is much better, they should bring him back.

                  I think it's unfortunate that people are always so quick to be nasty to someone just because they are passionate about a genre of music. Take Tim Westwood for instance. That man is a credit to international musical relations yet someone tried to shoot him.

                  Back to Zane Lowe though, I never knew who he was until I went to visit my friend Mike's house and got introduced to how knowledgable he is about indie/rock/rap etc. Mike had a kitchen cupboard drilled on to his bedroom wall which when you opened it up to look inside contained a small effigy of Zane he had made from an empty squash bottle holding a demo of his band.

                  Needless to say, the only reason he started the band was so one day he may hear Zane say his name/invite him on the show and then go out on the town after for some one on one boys fun.

              • The guy is an annoying tosser. I do choose not to listen to him when he is on air, unfortunately for me I get his opinion and his whiney self indulgent thoughts and voice forced upon me thanks the the evil that is the BBC I-player. The thing that really gets me though is that what I am being forced to listen to are the daily reruns of the shows from the night before. I hate Zane Lowelife, colin murray, annie mac, Fearne & Reggie, Chris moyles, sara cox (god the sound of her voice makes me sick), steve lamacq, Vernon Kay, some of the others are ok but after being forced to hear these voices day after day I have formed the opinion that we would be better off without them. I never used to mind hearing them occasionally and used to actually enjoy some of the shows from all of them but no more. I find it offensive that the reruns should be forced on anyone that choses not to tune in in their own time, and as far as getting a life goes? I for one have a good life, I just feel it is a shame that day after day I get this evil rammed into my head but I guess that is as much to do with the selfish folk in the office as anything. GOD THAT FEELS BETTER...

      Even people he "interviews" (to term it loosely, as much as he can get an interview in between all his cocksucking) though often fucking hate him - I know this both personally, and from merely listening to him (one with Graham Coxon on that bad indie-rawk London radio station sticks in my mind; GC getting frostier and more disdainful & unamused with him as it progressed and Lowe's pally act fell arse over tit as it became clear he hadn't a fucking clue about Coxon's solo career. Ahaha...)

      I've compiled a handy Zane Lowe checklist.

      When he interviews or plays a band he

      A) uses the phrase 'hot right now'
      B) uses they words 'rock so hard'
      C) Gushes lyrically for at least thirty seconds every time he speaks.
      D) References himself or links himself to the band in some way, usually in a personal and/or historical sense ('When I was working in a record shop...' or 'I'll come and dj at your gig' being particular favourites).
      E) Mentions Eminem, even if Eminem is in no way related to the subject at hand.

      Naturally he will use the words 'you guys' while interviewing (not unlike the giant retard in The Goonies).

      On the other hand, it should be noted that a lot of people refer to bands and records in this way.
      Perhaps luckily it is only Lowe who is this singularly shite
      in public. There could be more like him on the radio, on your music television. Give thanks.

        The super shit thing about Zane Lowe is that he is a white indie version of Tim Westwood (who dreams of being black)! I can't stand him and to think that he pushed Stev-O Lamcq out of his slot. Makes me sick.

        Zane only reminds me of shitty jock-cock-rock from the US which isn't good. Yes he has quality bands on occasionally like TCTC and Snowpatrol but that just doesn't wash with me. I'm sure more good bands would flock to Mada Vale if Steve was back in charge of the Evening Sessio.

      see im sorta torn here.initially i found lowe'sconstant yelling rather annoying but then i got sky and having watched him on mtv2 frequently i have to say ive warmed 2 the guy.he loses that frenetic nature when he's on tv and calms down a bit and he can b quite witty when pushed.i can definately see why he pisses people off but 2 b honest other than lammo i cant really think of any dj who doesnt piss me off.ive listened to xfm and other than the comic dj's like gervais and merchant theres no one i really like.
      so in conclusion you're gonna have to put up wiv the drongo cos other than lamacq hes the best you're gonna get.

                    We caught the end of the repeat of that 100-Sexiest-Movie-Moments thing on channel 4 the other week, one night when there was nothing on tv, and there was this complete and utter laddish prick (should be in caps really for the full emphasis) talking absolute cock about stuff, sounded like he was editor of Front magazine or something, about as many braincells it seemed. none of us knew who he was but the sound & look of him and the shit that came out of his mouth had us certain within 30 minutes he deserved to die. brutally and painfully.

                    and then his name caption appeared for the last comment he made at the end. one Alex Zane.

                    i give up..

                    (assuming he actually has nothing of worth to say on mtv either and that wasn't all wholly out of character, hmm)

    Ok An old thread but would like to add...Be careful never to check him out live (not that anyone would) as his DJ set is like a best of rock style compilation.. really obvious stuff like teen spirit followed by Bohemian Rhapsody then maybe Franz Ferdinand take me out. All good songs you could say but how dull to put them all together and stand there waving your hands at the crowd as if to take credit for your great taste in music, what a joke.Unfortunately for me when I had to watch this quite awful twat act he would not get off the stage for the final act to come on as there was a mix up with times and he felt he was more important than the final act of the day. And hes suppose to champion the new shit. Bollocks hes just lost up his own arse... real shame this twat is where he is. As he is a real fake!

    In my experience Antipodeans - both New Zealanders and Australians, seem to have a relentless enthusiasm for absolutely everything mildly exciting in life, that will never warm to most Brits who are understandably suspicious about anything remotely "new" and "trendy" in popular culture.     most of the time. I remember when One By One by the Foo Fighters came out and being a massive Foo's fan at the time I really wanted to see the interview on MTV2 he did with them, he spoke more than Dave Grohl and often answered his questions for him and it's been the same in every interview I've seen him do. It's kind of like he's David Letterman and whatever band he has on is his sidekick for the day. I fucking hate Zane Lowe and hearing him referenced by a few people as this generations John Peel is enough to make any self respecting music fan wretch.

    on the one hand he did wear a Jetplane Landing t-shirt on Gonzo a couple of times so respect for that

    I am forced to listen to this toss every day on the BBC I-player.

    They should have a health warning at the beginning of all their rerun shows telling their listeners to check with other people in the room/office if they mind listening and not to be so selfish as to force the likes of Lane Lowlife and anyone else that We otherwise choose not to listen to upon us...
