NME thinks that In The Belly Of The Brazen Bull is the best Cribs album
This is clearly nonsense. Best named Cribs album, sure, but not the best album. They've rated every Cribs album an 8 except for ITBOTBB, which it gave a 9. Probably because its definitely better than Ignore The Ignorant, which was well overrated, presumably because Johnny Marr.
For the record, the order is as follows:
Men's Needs, Women's Needs, Whatever > The New Fellas > The Cribs > ITBOTBB > Ignore The Ignorant. Cheers. Also, what about them releasing a best of? Bit weird yeah?

ten years since their first album, innit
they're a pretty good singles band, i can see why.
Yeah I know
I just find it really weird when bands that I remember releasing their first album release best ofs. Oh dear.
hah
tell me about it. i saw them touring it in early 2004 :(
(they were RUBBISH. i quite like them now tho)
I only got into them when The New Fellas came out
Just assumed they were post-Libs nonsense until i heard Mirror Kissers on some compilation I think it was, then fell in love with them. Last couple of albums have been disappointing though, which is why i don't understand why NME have decided the latest was the best. MADNESS.
Not heard Ryan's new band yet, Exclamation Pony. Any good?
I saw them supporting Bright Eyes in Manchester in 2003 i think
after the Postal Service pulled out. (What a show that would have been).
They were scrappy and very drunk. The singer near took his clothes off but thought better of it.
They were fun though.
The first five or six songs on Men's Needs/Women's Needs
Is one of the most fun successions of songs I've heard. Genuinely. Just really good songwriting.
No doubt
One of my favourite albums ever.
EVER.
So true
put this on right now. whatever//
The New Fellas is my favourite.
They're all good, but I got so much pleasure from this album at the time, and still puts a massive smile on my face every time.
I listened to You're Gonna Lose Us rather loud while waiting for a bus yesterday
A man actually moved away from me, that's when I realised how loud it was
New Fellas.
They're right.
Its easily the one that I come back to most often. Ignore The Ignorant is also very much underrated. Mens Needs is pretty good, but I can't really stand anything before that. It just sounds like a shit Lo-fi Strokes.
naaah
MNWNW > The New Fella > Room on Fire > The Cribs > Is This It > other Cribs albums > other Strokes albums
Your order is the correct order.
I <3 The Cribs.
they have more than two albums?!
its true
its perfect!it helped change my mind that the cribs were not just another horrific kieser chiefs type bunch.
i think its becoming one of my fave albums full stop
come on now
1 brazen bull
2 mens needs
3 ignore the ignorant
all the rest - a bit rubbish
haha nonsense
I had such high hopes for ITI.
Not often a band gets stronger with each album, but the Cribs definitely did. MNWNW is so fucking good.
Don't think I've even listened to ITBOTBB.
Mega CBA typing things out properly today.
it's ok but you don't need it like
I'd say your bang on with your order of albums there.
out of the three i've heard, first ones the best
I flippin love The Cribs
I thought it was all going to go pear shaped when Ryan started going out with Kate Nash (it didn't) or when they moved to Portland (good idea) or when Johnny Marr joined (meh, lamest album yet).
But what I'm asking is have we heard the best Cribs album so far (Men's Needs yeah) or is their best yet to come?
have you heard housewife?
the non album single they did a while ago.one of their v best
I haven't but I'll check it out.
cheers jesse
oh i dont think i ever got around to looking that up actually
