Well, I say spreadsheet - it's actually a text file. Stuff culled from the voting thread, that i need to listen to at some point. Yours got added cos of the sleigh bells and death grips mentions. T'other lucky DiSers' top fives who ended up in the, um, hitlist were Icarus, vamos, KRaudive, and shimmetry. I hope you all feel suitably creeped out.
not great with years of stuff so can't think further back than that, there's always gonna be better stuff you've missed though innit, bet if you give me a year something will bump it's way up there for 2012.
2011 went
colin stetson
aidan moffat & bill wells
some other stuff
now its
harvey milk
colin stetson
richard dawson
am & bw
some other stuff
Still suuuuuper in love with Fiona Apple, Purity Ring, and Passion Pit. I've stopped listening to Death Grips as much, though - I love those records, but I needed to give 'em a break.
Ringo Deathstarr and Matthew Dear getting plenty of look ins. Now, Now and Liars need to leave for a bit. Getting into Tamaryn (particularly) and DIIV after the event.
Still Ideas from the Pond by Petar Dundov. Was pretty difficult to choose between that, Swans, Shackleton and Damien Jurado but om balance it's definitely my favourite. The Steve Hauschildt record is probably the only thing I've heard since the end of last year that might break the top 10.
Going back through my picks, the last time this wasn't the case was 2006, when I picked 'Wolves' by My Latest Novel - but I much prefer 'Roots & Crowns' by Califone. Since then (and most of before) what I picked as my favourite at the time is still my favourite.
but since then Converge's All We Love has definitely grown up to be the one new release from last year that has really stuck with me.
and albums from previous years which may have been my album of the year then I now rarely if ever play while others which would have been much further down the list have passed comfortably into my regular listening rotation
no
mine was Hot Chip and now it's How To Dress Well
Mine was Errors - Have Some Faith in Magic, and yes I still love it and it's still my favourite.
I don't remember what I said my favourite was, if I even bothered to do that
but yeah, I still like all the music I liked a few months ago.
heh
My spreadsheet says yours was Chromatics.

Yes, so far.
Although yesterday I took delivery of 'At the down-turned jagged rim of the sky' by Jessica Bailiff which could run it close.
2012 yes 2011 no

Wasn't that Harvey Milk album 2010?
I just went and fact-checked that.
I didn't know that Harvey Milk has been around for so long. I thought Life... The Best Game In Town was their debut!
(I don't listen to them)
You're right, however. They haven't made a record since '10.
oh yeah
oh no! list broken. i only got it in 2011.
Yes
Mine was Habits & Contradictions
Still is, but then again I only 'chose' it about 6 weeks ago. Ask me again in a year.
Yes.
Mine was How To Dress Well, and it still is.
2011 mine was Peaking Lights 936, and it still is.
2010 mine was Emeralds - Does It Look Like I'm Here. and it still is.
2009 mine was Wild Beasts – Two Dancers. guess what?
The rest of the top 10s could do with some reshuffling and additions, but the number one I have got right by me and my internal logic, every time.
Hot Chip still reigns supreme
yes
Chromatics and SVE were my joint favourites
Nothing has raced past it in the chart in my mind.
it's only been a couple months!
Still suuuuuper in love with Fiona Apple, Purity Ring, and Passion Pit. I've stopped listening to Death Grips as much, though - I love those records, but I needed to give 'em a break.
Mine was Chromatics
I think it still is, but Hot Chip and Kendrick have edged much closer.
Yep - Grimes still my favourite on balance
Ringo Deathstarr and Matthew Dear getting plenty of look ins. Now, Now and Liars need to leave for a bit. Getting into Tamaryn (particularly) and DIIV after the event.
Yes sir
Mine`s even gone in my top 10 all time favourite albums.
Very much so
Still Ideas from the Pond by Petar Dundov. Was pretty difficult to choose between that, Swans, Shackleton and Damien Jurado but om balance it's definitely my favourite. The Steve Hauschildt record is probably the only thing I've heard since the end of last year that might break the top 10.

mine was tame impala
and i still quite love it
i didn't really have one at the end of last year
but since then Converge's All We Love has definitely grown up to be the one new release from last year that has really stuck with me.
and albums from previous years which may have been my album of the year then I now rarely if ever play while others which would have been much further down the list have passed comfortably into my regular listening rotation
Tindersticks is still mine for sure
But Scott Walker keeps nudging at it
sic alps
cheers i've been working out
Rolo Tomassi
Yep, it was and still is Astraea. Lonerism was also very good, but is being lapped in second place by Astraea.
Empiresk would be my track of 2012.
Yeah,
Django Django stands up.
I didn't rank favourites last year
so I'm not sure.
mine was cloud nothings.
i don't think i've listened to it since 2012. i think deftones would be my current number 1.
