Great album cuts from 90s alt-rock-chart-pop bands.
I'm talking like bands that were pretty big and had radio success that had some great songs (non-singles) outside of what was heard on the radio.
Like for instance, I really like the first Third Eye Blind blind album but not really for the singles.

the last half this is too good
and their second album had Wounded on it which I think is a pretty incredible song (love the use of harmonics).

Love how this song builds and shifts. Good drums. Great simple guitar break into an awesome back half of angry pure rock chugging furrrry. And that riff at the end <3
Pretty much everything from Afterglow, really
Great album all round.
Then again I'd say 3/4 of it had radio play, so maybe it doesn't count.
Everything to Everyone, I Will Buy You a New Life, Father of Mine and One Hit Wonder
were all singles off that LP.
Just listening back on that one and Why I Dont Believe in God has banjos?! wtf. Kind of great though, love the intro. I really love the albums opener and closer. Actually the first song might be my favorite

helluvaway to open an album
Not sure I fully understand the criteria, but:
Pulp - I Spy (Different Class)
Pulp - David's Last Summer (His 'n' Hers)
Loads of others, not all by Pulp.
Yeah like that.
Ive never listened to Pulp. I like I Spy.
Ah okay. I was trying to think of some for Blur but they seem to have released every good song as a single at some point
