I've been to the last 4 or 5.
Not overly excited about the first batch. The festival needs refreshing; it's starting to get a tad 'samey' and losing some spark, for me. I still enjoy it, but they are resting on their laurels.
End of The Road
again this year for me then
nothing exciting there
How do Band of Horses get away with releasing drivel for so long and are still able to headline a festival like this? EOTR looks way better already and more acts this week
tbf
I'm sure green man's other headliners will be better. The bands announced are decent, just not massively exciting!
Ben Howard :-/
seriously considering just doing End of the Road instead...
Hey
he won some Brits!
The undercard is decent, with some underwhelming headliners.
Yeah,
and I imagine once the line-up is filled out then it'll be really good, and it is Green Man so will still be fun. Might see if I can steward, at least, but don't fancy spending £145 just yet..
sure
At the moment though, i do think EOTR has the superior line up
It's Green Man for me
purely because it is in the school holidays and I keep missing Roy Harper's shows.
I've heard of Ben Howard but had no idea he was 'a thing'. From the reaction here and on the GM boards I'm guessing I won't too impressed.
I think maybe this year will be the first time it doesn't sell out
I don't know,
there's always at least one headliner that seems weaker (Jarvis Cocker, Animal Collective, that kinda thing), but getting Ben Howard as a headliner will probably attract a new audience.
I guess it just depends on how much of a gamble it really is to have somebody who's just won two brit awards as your headliner. If it attracts more new people than it puts off old, then it's definitely worth it.
I'm banking on My Bloody Valentine as Friday night headliner
A natural progression from Explosions in the Sky and Mogwai in that slot the last two years. Ben Howard is a no mark but will please the Mumford dullards and shift a lot of tickets. Band of Horses are great live and have a shit load of tunes, the undercard needs more psych stuff for me. It'll be fine.
some decent
additions
. Especially Low, Swans and Midlake

I still not that excited.
Looks good but after last year I won't be going personally
They'd better bring the big screens back to the main stage this year.
Last year SUCKED without.
What
happended last year?
They had no big screens on the main stage.
Most annoying.
It was a bit muddy and I forgot my wellies
Schoolgirl error.
nah it was fine
just had to be careful of my footing. wellies are for mugs (definitely gonna buy a pair if I go this year).
the
final headliner are the Kings of Convenience

Whole load of other bands.
For the first time in a while, not at all tempted by Green Man this year. EOTR is a much better line up (headliner wise) for once.
Agree the headliners are uninspiring
I rarely watch the headliners anyway. Apart from the headliners, the EOTR lineup looks really, really weak this year although I'm guessing they have a fair few to announce still. Normally it looks really good. Do they have the late-night stuff there like they do at Green Man?
20 more announced for EOTR tomorrow lunchtime
KoC
were brilliant headliners at Porto Primavera last year. Really surprised me.
