Roskilde Festival 2013 (Denmark)
http://roskilde-festival.dk/music/bands/
First line-up announcements so far, looks amazing - Dillinger Escape Plan, Holy Other, Danny Brown... pretty amazing so far.
Has anyone been before? I can't really work it out - seems to be over a week long with a 'full' ticket?
Anyway, if anyone has any tips or anything I'd be interested to hear!

I think you can camp for a week, but the music starts on Thursday
Yup, ^this
It's something is a tradition for school leavers to do the whole week, so up until Thursday the campsites are full of 18 year old scandos getting absolutely blitzed.
It's an awesome festival though, I would highly recommend it. If you were so inclined, you can actually stay in Copenhagen and commute in each day - the festival has its own train sop right at the gates.
I've been thrice
It is ridiculous fun, but you have to be really up for it. The most full-on festival I've ever been to, those Danes really know how to party. It's massive, not as big as Glastonbury but the next biggest in Europe so it can be a bit of a ballache to get around and be prepared for mud if rain is forecast- worst mud I've seen anywhere, like a bog of clay.
People go in for the whole week, so there are three and a half days of partying before there is any music (except one stage with new Scandanavian bands on the Wednesday). Which is knackering, but arguably more fun than the actual music part itself. If the sun comes out, it's incredible, you pretty much have to be fully butt naked to go in the swimming lake.
So yeah, go nuts. I'm not going again as I'm not sure I could hack it anymore, but it's something that should be done. Don't worry about what is playing, it's like Glastonbury in that respect- there is so much to do anyway it doesn't matter
I'm tempted to bin Glasto in favour of Roskilde this year. Worth it?
Definitely
For a big festival I think that Roskilde is way more fun than Glastonbury...
line up being announced on the website right now
some interesting stuff so far
This looks like a blast.
oh my
fooooooook what a lineup!
What ^they said.
It was incredibly hot when I went, which made things even more intense/draining than it already was. Felt some sort of pride in being in getting through it in one piece. In a good way, rather than a 'thankfully I didn't get robbed and beaten up and burnt alive' way that would apply to, say, Reading/Leeds/TitP.
