Henry's Dream
As much as I think The Mercy Seat is his best song - this must be their best album?

Jay-Z
Yup
Such an amazing album
Let Love In is their best album for me. Henry's Dream is a
close second. Their live album that was released with a photobook in the 90s was brilliant. The Mercy Seat has never sounded more raw and more angrier than on that live album. Check out that album.
yeah, Jack The Ripper, Ship Song, Plain Gold Ring and lots more just nailed
Superb live album.
Being honest now....
Henry's Dream is the most difficult Nick Cave album for me. I find some of the vocals on it very grating, especially on Papa Won't Leave You, Henry. I'm a huge Nick Cave fan and have listened to this album a ton of times but always find it a relief to put on something like Kicking Against the Pricks or Let Love In afterwards. Odd.
John Finn's Wife, Jack the Ripper, Brother, My Cup is Empty and When I First Came to Town are all fantastic though. Guess I just killed my own opinion actually. Half of it's fantastic.
Let Love In will always be my favourite followed by maybe, You're Funeral, My Trial.
Your*
It's a great album
but they've bettered it a few times before and since.
hummm
I Don't think they've made a great album since Let Love In.
Some good ones but nothing great.
Abbatoir Blues I will argue is just as great, almost.
Let Love In and The Boatman's Call take it as my favourites
but yeah, if it's from the '90s and it's got Nick Cave's name on it you can assume it's fucking phenomenal.
I get the impression that it's one of his least favourite
but Papa Won't Leave You Henry and I Had a Dream Joe are pretty much the main reason why I don't write Nick Cave off completely. Henry's Dream is the only album of his that I've ever cared enough to listen to (excepting Murder Ballads, which I bought on the strength of the Kylie duet and immediately regretted).
bizarre
The band hated the production on it.
Which is why they generally look back on it unfavorably.
Murder Ballads was very underrated. I do like it though I haven't
heard it for years. The albums after Murder Ballads have always been poor for me. An exception was parts of his Abattoir Blues albums.
I can't much hack
Nick Cave post-smack
Tender Prey
And Your Funeral My Trial always have been and always will be the best Bad Seeds albums
One of his best
Straight to You is probably my favourite Cave song & am always disappointed that he never plays it live.
