I nabbed a copy of it after it started streaming places. I didn't think I was going to fall in love with an album so, so early in the year, but here I am. I adore every square inch of the record. I'm super excited to head into town on Sunday, so I can pick up an actual physical copy.
I also feel like it's worth mentioning that I never got into Yo La Tengo before Fade, but now, I'm straight-up obsessed. This should be pretty fun.
So beautiful. I loved Popular Songs, this is just different, more cohesive, less jukebox. I'd heard Stupid Things before and been quite 'meh' but it really makes sense in the context of this album.
Noticed the beat from Saturday being recycled on Two Trains. Guess I'll let them off in the circumstances...
Definitely
Awesome. Particularly the 1st half...
Think I need to start
listening to the second half of this. I keep putting it on and thinking I love it, then turning it off half way through for some reason.
Oh, shutup!
Wow. Someone actually removed my above comment was a response to!

get a search function that works
really good
and very subdued, to the point that its quality sort of snuck up on me gradually. Absolutely love 'The Point of It' and 'Cornelia and Jane'.
I cannot stop listening to this record.

Good to have you on board.

all great tracks, standing out at the moment for me are Paddle Forward, Is That Enough and Before We Run, but really everything is excellent!
watch them do Ohm on Jimmy Fallon (with extra drums from Fred Armisen and Kidd Millions)

What other bands have been this consistent for so long?
Some bands just don't do bad albums. Everything is reliably good or interesting. Yo La Tengo is one of those bands.
Love this record
Having been a bit underwhelmed by the last couple.
I love Popular Songs, would go in my top three favourites of theirs
That album was pretty immediate and very eclectic though, I can already tell this one hangs together a lot better as an LP...
^This to Popular Songs
I think the longer pieces at the end let it down though - sequenced a bit strangely, and definitely not up to I Heard You Looking et al
Ohm is really really really good.
This wasn't supposed to go here
I keep expecting, y'know, a second chord
Not so much now because I've heard it about four times. But yeah it is good.
I think a second chord would ruin it
I was going to reply here to say that I like Popular Songs a lot
The long songs being grouped together is maybe a bit odd though yeah. But the last of those is amazing.
watch them play a few tunes
the last in-store at Easy St Records

Stockholm Syndrome, still one of my favourites!!
