  was one of the best songs from 2012 for sure. I know its been around since '11 but got an EP release last year so yeah.
  
  He really went for a Voodoo vibe on that, interested to see if he keeps going that path or mixes it up. Sounds like he is trying to get that sound if he went and got Pino for a full length.

        Read about him in some Hit-Boy interview last year. I'll get on it. I'm enjoying this trend of 'behind the scenes' songwriters finding success now R&B seems to be getting big. The Dream set the precedent I guess? But there's Ocean, BJ the Chicago Kid and a load of the Surf School guys. Crazy how much talent there is in such integral positions who never even get heard of.
        
        What's your favourite track on that Alston EP? Can't get enough of 'You Do That' and 'Pioneer' at the moment.

- Here's my problems with this record:
  
  1) Counting is TOO good and nothing else really lives up to it.
  2) Warning is actually painful to listen to, hate it.
  3) He seems to sort of run out of ideas/lyrics in the second half of the album and just keeps whacking out the falsetto and saying 'baby' over and over again.
  
  Point 3 may change given a few more listens. I've listened to the first half loads though and it's banging. Just a bit inconsistent.

- More excited for this than ever after listening to the album in full.
  
  A lot of the R&B I've taken an interest in is slinky and pared down, so this is a refreshing counterpoint. Judging by the similarities to Channel Pressure (and the fact that Software are involved in the release), I'm guessing Joel Ford and Daniel Lopatin had a lot to do with the production on Anxiety; I'm really looking forward to hearing a high quality version for the sonic flourishes that are lost in a shitty Youtube link. Good chance this will be my AOTY.

      The subtlety is a major part of the attraction for me. There is so much beauty in the small sonic details, though. Love the mix overall, bass up high. That's something that really plagued his last album.

I was really hoping this might restore my hopes for (the album eventually known as) IV Play. It hasn't. I mean people might think Love King and FILA were weak singles but they were so much better than this. Even Dope Bitch was better than this.

top 5 was a bit predicatble: burn, if i ain't got you, walked out of heaven, could it be and southside.

from it, though, i deduced that there simply is not enough compositing work in recent music videos. we need more fake highways and palm trees on fire. miguel take note.
