I'm shit at finding indie I like nowadays so a thread with epic amounts of links is what I could do with realy just to dip in and out of to see whats up. Will make a mongrel thread again when stuff starts getting released again.

but i just heard that woods album from last year and i really like it, even if some of it's a bit too like the shins. the other stuff is sort of mildly wooden shjipsy influenced psychy indie pop! good.

What would people say are the key characteristics
that set say 'INDIE' POP/ELECTRONICA/ROCK apart from standard POP/ROCK/ELECTRONICA?
I have OCD and occasionally get transfixed on a particular train of thought. This is my current nagging feeling. Is it the DIY ethic? the unorthadox approach? the general earnestness?
