is in second. Might have been in first if I'd remembered it was a 2010 song tbh. Not even going to attempt to describe it - like FDL it's completely unique, except maybe even weirder and maybe even sadder. maybe this first record was a one-off. it kind of sounds like one; a kind-of-retro moody electro pop record like this shouldn't be so enigmatic and compelling. the hidden hand of Chris Taylor was sorely missed on the follow-up (at least if he was involved, I can't hear it).

this is the best track, possessing an elegant, languid melancholia like, I don't know, an ex passing a bar's frosted windows or some lonely guy passing a house at night and seeing waltzing silhouettes projected upon curtains.

did I mention how velvetiness of the melancholy? it's quite velvety.
