Great footage of 80s indie bands touring the uni circuit
There's loads of it on youtube. Just look at this Smiths footage:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l60Pcw87bwQ
Im not sure how it was all filmed- hand held VHS camera smuggled in by a fan? It certainly preserves forever that generation, with its Thatcher, youth training schemes, second hand jumpers, and paper fanzines. Its as if there still all there in the venue.
Look at this My Bloody Valentine footage:

You can imagine kids in there bedrooms watching bootleg videos of this footage. And now I watch it on my laptop. Funny really.
Anyway, what other footage of indie bands touring the uk uni circuit in the 80s is good?

Kinda a lil bit better when I saw 'em at the Hollywood Palladium, bun never mind...
I really enjoyed that Smiths one
all those young lads clambering up to get their little moment.... kissing Morrissey. You wouldn't see that now right?
No
Their beerguts would prevent actual kissing: just a bit of light frottage.
Im not sure if it would happen today or not
I remember watching the others in about 2002 when everyone invaded the stage. But somehow it wasn't the same. There's lots of good smiths footage around. This one isn't fan filmed but still really good:

Ocean Colour Scene - 1991 (Venue New Cross)
As shown on Snub TV. I only post it because I am in the front row somewhere. Don't even like Ocean Colour Scene.

yeah its the fan footage that i really meant this thread to be about
The stuff recorded on a single camera by someone seemingly stood in the audience.
