well, the best thing Bill Callahan's ever done, that's 'Sometimes I Wish We Were An Eagle'
pretty much.

Maybe
Knock Knock
it's indubitably this
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3zl7vi9ur4U
but if I had to pick an album, probably Red Apple Falls
aye its a beautiful record that,
the arrangements and production are spot on
Much as I love Chosen One, I have to go for I Break Horses as fave track.

Doctor Came At Dawn and Dongs Of Sevotion are both worth adding to the other albums mentioned by other posters.
I agree!
Funny you post this now. Just wondered into the new Beerwolf Books pub in Falmouth, they were playing Rococo Zephyr, as wonderful as that pub is, I soon went home just to listen to that album again. Absolutely perfect songwriting.
Shhh...
Don't tell people about the pub, it's already getting too busy.
Ah, I was kidding. It's a shithole. They don't even sell Carling.
*wink wink*
A good Second place, but you meant
Dongs of sevotion though , right?
AS IF.
a lot of it is well boring.
all of these are miles better:
knock knock, supper, ran on lens, dongs of sevotion, red apple falls, woke on a whaleheart, julius caesar.
Eh?
Surely the right answer is 'a river...'. Pretty much all stuff released as smog > that released as bill.
I need to rank them all
all I'm sure of is this one is his best start to finish. though it's probably more the case that it flows in a way that better fits the way I like to sink into his headier songs.
like, certain songs buckle me at the knees ('Strayed', 'Distance', 'Red Apple Falls', 'All Your Woman Things') and I just can't get up again to get in the mood for the others.
not 'Distance'
'Devotion'.
oh god, that song...it's like blacking out a bit.
