"A Neue Deutsche Härte Christmas" - a selection of classic carols, including 'O Holy Night', 'In The Bleak Midwinter', 'Once in Royal David's City' and 'Little Donkey' - tenderly sung by Till and a choir of lesbian nuns to an orchestrated backing of apocalyptic church organ, synth stabs, heavily processed guitar and sex noises.
A bunch of their songs have got a strong winter/Christmas feel to them anyway (the ones with all the horns), I'd love to hear them do some proper Christmas songs.
Would enjoy a Prurient/Vatican Shadow christmas record if we're getting twisted.
XMAS IS IMPERIALISM EP
1. VIRGIN MARY HAS A BACKSTREET ABORTION (11:32)
2. SNOWSTORM IN CAMP BASTION (6:57)
3. RUDOLPH STEPS ON AN I.E.D. (5:21)
4. OSAMA DREAMS OF A WHITE CHRISTMAS (23:23)
i want the guy from Maher Shalal Hash Baz to write a primary school nativity.
+ Owen Ashworth (you could probably just burn a CD-R of all his christmas songs tbh)
+ Pet Shop Boys
+ I'm From Barcelona (if it was still 2006)
That would be
Absolutely amazing. Loads of wonky piano playing and uncertain singing.
Anais Mitchell
In the style of Hadestown, with an indietastic cast of guests
oh, I meant to say
The Antlers
imagine that
Pete whathisface sat by a roaring fire with a santa hat on as the cover
Rammstein

A real version of this

Tilly And The Wall
The Avalanches
Andrew WK, obviously
genuinely surprised it hasn't already happened.
Even though I am not a fan of Christmas record
..one by Xiu Xiu could be quite interesting. Definitely different!
oops
meant 'records', forgot the 's'
Owen Pallett.
I would like one by a collective like Erase Tapes artists or something
Like a christmas-themed Dark was the night by ambient/modern omposition artists. A lot of their music is wintery, but not upbeat enough to be festive
not quite the same thing but Banjo or Freakout did a free d/l Christmas record a few years ago
a lot of it is super fuzzy type stuff where you can just pick out the melody. it's really quite pleasant.
Future Of The Left
This HAS TO happen at some point.
Does "The Real Meaning Of Christmas" from their new EP
Not count?
The Walkmen
A bunch of their songs have got a strong winter/Christmas feel to them anyway (the ones with all the horns), I'd love to hear them do some proper Christmas songs.
they did...
...a great Christmas track called... The Christmas Party... it sounds like an alls grown up Peanuts episode. its brilliant.
Nils Frahm
ambient re-workings of the classics.
CLUTCH
Elephant 6
That'd be fun.
Elf Power, OTC, Mangum, Spillane, of Montreal etc.
A lot of their stuff is almost there, just needs more Santa.
I really liked Wooden Shjips christmas tape they put up for download
Dunno if it would be good over a whole album...
Has Neil Young ever done an xmas record?
Would enjoy a Prurient/Vatican Shadow christmas record if we're getting twisted.

Excellent work Kieran :D
Merry Christmas champ. Hope it is joyful/painless dependent on your outlook
I wish a lovely day for yourself as well

3. RUDOLPH STEPS ON AN I.E.D. (5:21)
Also, imagine a Danny Brown christmas record
that would be something.
The National
Ulver, obvs
They did a Christmas song and it went pretty well*, so why not? Plus their recent album was a covers record
*definitely the most fucking terrifying/awesome Xmas song of recent years/ever
Rufus Wainwright Duets
sounds like the most middle aged thing ever - and it totally would be - but it would also be great. who could he duet with?
Mike Patton
