Thought it was fine both times in general. The talking through acts and it being overcrowded and slightly dodgy sound is true, but i also think it's not enough to ruin the day if the line up is decent
a twitter rumour. Also, the gigsandtours email promoting it said to prepare for the annoucnemt by listening to music from Kindness and Hot Chip on FM radio...

Is not knowing about good bands. If you look at some of previous years line ups months beforehand they're immense. I bet some of these guys will be bigger names to us lot come May.
It was overcrowded, far too few bars/staff, they had run out of cider by late afternoon/early evening, toilet queues were massive and tent sizes too small. All of these annoyances were areas that had been massively improved upon too, so i dread to think what it was like in previous years. That said, i'm tempted to try it again, the line-up looks fantastic already and i didn't find the attendees all that bad. The sound (across all stages) in general was pretty good too.
It was a farce. If you queued for the Beer tent, then you had to start queuing for the toilets immediately after, due to the lack of facilities. The Archie Bronson Outfit were asked to turn their sound down, refused and had their set cut short (They were put on a stage closest to residents).
and it wasn't just The Archie Bronson Outfit who suffered from poor sound either. That said, 2010 was really good fun and last year was good too (although not as good as the previous year, possibly owing to me being ridiculously tired).
after 2011's horrifying mess of overcrowding and terrible sound. got offered a free ticket at the last minute for this year, and ended up having a grand time. may well go again this year, though probably with relatively low expectations.
Still not going again
cheers
what nonsense, was absolutely wonderful this year
Was really good this year
Much better than the previous two anyway - looking forward to the announcement.
Clashes with Primavera again :)
Field Day can do one.
I *might* consider going again if it gets good reviews this year.
When is it?
I'd like to go to this.
Hopefully the horror stories I've heard about it consistently being filled with helmets are untrue.
The stories are true,
It is filled with the absolute worst of London.
Tbh the crowd are the least of your worries at field day
unless it's 2010 and there's 2 people per square foot of grass.
i
Have been twice.
Thought it was fine both times in general. The talking through acts and it being overcrowded and slightly dodgy sound is true, but i also think it's not enough to ruin the day if the line up is decent
Can we have a separate thread for all the people who aren't going?
Too late, this one's already for those people
take your positivity elsewhere.
well
Hot Chip and Kindness playing apparently
Hope that means Hot Chip are playing Primavera too
Who are Kindness? Never heard of them?
Wrote one of the best songs of 2012 called 'House'
Rest of the album failed to live up to it tbh.
Are you sure
You're not looking at the Australian festival of the same name?
just
a twitter rumour. Also, the gigsandtours email promoting it said to prepare for the annoucnemt by listening to music from Kindness and Hot Chip on FM radio...
anyone

nice
The one thing you can't criticise the organisers of
Is not knowing about good bands. If you look at some of previous years line ups months beforehand they're immense. I bet some of these guys will be bigger names to us lot come May.
thats
Decent. I'm up for that.
it's a trap
don't understand the hate, was a brilliant festival this year
2013 line up isn't very appealing, granted
it's nice to not even be tempted this year
I went this year and actually left feeling pretty angry
It was overcrowded, far too few bars/staff, they had run out of cider by late afternoon/early evening, toilet queues were massive and tent sizes too small. Don't do it.
This is what everyone says every year but it never goes well. The world music additions are great but I'll just hope they play other London shows.
I was unlucky enough to go to the first one.
It was a farce. If you queued for the Beer tent, then you had to start queuing for the toilets immediately after, due to the lack of facilities. The Archie Bronson Outfit were asked to turn their sound down, refused and had their set cut short (They were put on a stage closest to residents).
A complete joke. Not been back since.
The first year was horrendous
and it wasn't just The Archie Bronson Outfit who suffered from poor sound either. That said, 2010 was really good fun and last year was good too (although not as good as the previous year, possibly owing to me being ridiculously tired).
swore off ever going again
after 2011's horrifying mess of overcrowding and terrible sound. got offered a free ticket at the last minute for this year, and ended up having a grand time. may well go again this year, though probably with relatively low expectations.
That's a really good lineup
But after Bloc I swore never to go to another festival based on lineup alone, and I've heard to many bad things about Field Day to risk it.
Great line-up again
Not going, again
Fantastic line up
Probably won't be going.
2011 was pretty poor
2012 I had a right proppa good time
will probably go in 2013...
