lol what a woody
he'd probably miss and hit Coldplay instead
perhaps coincidentally, Billy Corgan has a new album out next week
let's all go out and buy fur coats!
It's not hard to see who has the last laugh here either
If Radiohead were to post a single word on their website, millions of over excitable fanboys dribble everywhere about the prospect of a new album. Most Smashing Pumpkin fans probably don't even realise this album is coming out next week.
they didn't even get a quarter of the way through that stupid mega EP/album/project thing
before giving in and going back to proper records.
tragic.
Apparently this is supposed to be an album within the superalbum
Or something like that
Yeah it's going to be included in the final boxset
but it's certainly not free
he has seemed to have a chip on his shoulder for awhile about rock music and 'alternative' music even though the terms a pretty meaningless in this fragmented day and age
EDGY.
the new album is not as bad as I expected
still pretty bad though
title track's sounding pretty fucking shit hot
sorry, not the title track
but whatever the opener is called.
5 tracks in and this is alright
It's not chock-a-block with amazing tunes, but at least the production/mix/mastering isn't terrible like the last album.
Truth be told, what I really want is for Corgan to take the 3 or 4 solid tracks from Zeitgeist, plus the 3 or 4 solid songs from the Teargarden EPs and up to 3 or 4 standout tracks from this album, and then re-record, mix and master the lot of them, in the style of Gish/Siamese Dream. Then we'd have a cracking album, I reckon.
Corgan's attracted to the mainstream audience now
Which they may or may not enjoy.
But, speaking on behalf of "alt" audiences everywhere: this new album is mediocre at best. 5/10
Which makes me sad. Cos I love Adore and Gish (9/10)! (more than Siamese Dream and MellonCollie). But this new album...meh.
I wasn't sure of my comments
till I put on Adore just now...it's all coming back to me. :) My God! what a great record. I stand by the above.
SO BRAVE.
Did someone say Radiohead
I'm surprised
anyone still talks to billy corgan. knobheaded tool. band always sucked.
what a buffoon
the tagging :')
