There seems to be a lot of ATP MBV tickets being advertised for sale...
unfortunately I've had to put mine up on offer as going will financially cripple me and I may be without a job very soon. Is everyone backing out in favour of the 10 Years or Pavement ATP? I still think the MBV line up is pretty superb and I'll no doubt be kicking myself very soon for choosing to miss Robin Guthrie, Ariel Pink, My Bloody Valentine...boo.
What's everyone elses excuse for not going, then?

My Bloody Valentine
I wonder whether it's because it was sold out so quickly
I imagine lots of people went 'WOW! MBV ATP!' (myself included) and swiftly bought tickets without considering how plausible it would be six months later. Hence, lots of tickets suddenly becoming available to buy from people who've realised they can't afford it/can't get time off, etc.
I'm still going, the line up's ended up being really strong and I've decided that it's just about equal in goodness to 10 Years (though I'd love to see YYYs do Fever To Tell).
Yea same here
The tickets went on sale waaaay earlier than usual so I think that's part of the reason too. But the festival section has gone mad for people selling places off. I've still got a space spare but I think I might just offer it up to a mate for him buying me some booze or driving as I doubt I'll be able to get rid of the place on here this time round with some many offers around.
Yeah the same thing happened to a mate of mine for one of the May ones this year
He couldn't sell it, so just ended up giving it to a friend in exchange for a couple of drinks. Better than it being wasted I guess, though annoying.
Fever To Tell would be fantastic live
ah well
I was going, and excited to be.
But then my band was offered some really good gigs we wanted to play, so as a result, I'm having to flog three tickets. £150 a piece if anyone is interested.
There do seem to be more than usual
Probably a combination of things. Quite a few people on the last.fm page are moaning about the line-up.
If I can get a ticket for about £100 a few days before I might drive up after work on the Saturday.
I don't think the line up is bad at all
Not amazing but I'd undoubtedly have a good time. I'm just curious as to why so many people seem to backing out.
I think there are probably various resosn.
Financial reasons for sure. Though I think the 10 years line up has probably effected it as well. The 10 years full of well known manes, it is probably the most populist/'mainstream'festival atp has done, thus is is probably easier for people to convince others to go, plus just being an 'anniversary' event makes people want to go. I'm sure that some people bought tickets to both and have been realising the financial implications of going to both and are opting for the 10 years festival.
also..
.. I think the MBV overall is a much strogner line up.
I was planning on buying tickets for NBC before the 10 Years one was announced
I'm not a fan of MBV, but would've gone anyway. There's plenty there that I wouldn't mind seeing.
