Vespertine
Every time I hear this album, I feel as though I'm a child watching a magician's show... That might sound a wee bit peculiar but Bjork does make an excellent magician.

Björk
Also...
Damn, the girl got vocal chops
Yeah but...
are you REALLY going for her lps when it's time to hear something that just works it? I kidded myself for YEARS until I finally sat myself down & admitted that she bugs the shit outta me. I'll happily go for an old rock steady comp ANY DAY...
don't listen to this guy
she's awesome, one of the few people in music who completely astounds me
Erm...
Army of Me? That's pretty raucous.
For me
this album can only be played in the winter. The final track, Unison, always warms me up inside.
'Unison' is one of my all time favourite Bjork songs :D
Her best album
and that's saying something. It's stunning.
or thee best album of decade?
http://drownedinsound.com/in_depth/1254995-dis-is-6--our-66-the-top-six
not sure anything since has truly topped it.
It's strange though
because this is the last Bjork album I needed to get (have them all on record) and because it's *the* DiS album I got it on CD......but was a bit disappointed. It's quite different to her others - I ended up wanting a track I could dance to, and there isn't one. This being said, 'Heirloom' and 'It's Not Up to You' are incredible.
yeah totally a winter album,
makes me want to drive trough poland at night. and it's a bit christmas-y as well, i think. Björk IS an elf you know.
you've made me remember
how much i love this album
it's my favourite of hers, and i pretty much love everything she does.
crazy icelandic pixie
i now
hate the fact that i decided not to bring this album with me, but instead put it in a box at my parents place... i really thought it was too much to bring all her albums so i left vespertine and debut in holland (temporary insanity i guess)
It's an amazing album
You should check the live version of Vespertine too, it's great.
listening to it now
on spotify. Never really listened to any of those live albums, but it's good
Make sure you listen to the end
The last song on it is one her best.
No other album I've heard feels even half as intimate
Like other people have been saying, the best album in a generally astonishing back catalogue.
Also, the 5.1 mix is *amazing*
putting it on now!
any idea why they only have the live version on Spotify?

presumed Bjork would have tech savvy team of folks ensuring her music is everywhere.
live version is pretty good tho!
