Broadcast and The Clientele.
I never see either of these two brilliant bands discussed on here, and they're two of the best modern English bands. Who's got love for the abstract genius of Broadcast or the sensuous smoove sounds of The Clientele (or both)?

I've never checked out The Clientele
But I adore Broadcast. Still never bought their debut, but their 2nd, 3rd and 4th albums are some of my most listened to records ever.
I love some of their EP tracks too. 'Illumination' might be one of my favourite 10 songs ever written:

Saw them in July and they were brilliant. New album is ace too.

Their tour date closest to me was in Chicago, and I couldn't make it.

I'd say Haha Sound is the best place to start with Broadcast.
They mix weird noises and lovely songs really well.
Never listened to Broadcast
but the Clientele are great, I only have God Save the Clientele tho. What else should I get?

Been listening to both quite a bit lately, listened to Haha Sound for first time in a while the other day and it's a lot better than I remember.
The clientele are great as well, not at all twee and nothing like Pains at Being Pure at Heart, just really great mellow laid back, great music.

haven't heard their latest thing but it sounds really interesting and i'm hoping to seem them in manchester in december. everything they've done is great. i can't say that i've heard of the clientele! but if they are being mentioned in the same places as broadcast then i'll have to investigate - any particular album i should start with?

There really isn't much of a musical comparison to be made between Broadcast and The Clientele, but they do both adhere to the same standard of quality.
