I've just been listening to Jesu's new EP in the office.
And while it's okay it's no great shakes (though bear in mind I'm listening through poxy earphones on a poxy PC) and very similar to stuff he's been releasing for a while now (as Jesu at least). So it got me thinking, what bands/artists have been treading water for some time now but for whatever reason we seem to let them away with it...

WEEZER
i really liked the new ep
it's what he does best. the lp was poor.
Animal Collective
Muse
No.
Yes.
you mean infinity?
i did seem a bit aimless but the ep just feels like it's retreading work he did much much better on conqueror
yeah that's the one.
it bored me. i found myself doing other things whilst listening to it which is not what jesu normally does for me.
you can't really expect him to keep evolving with every release considering how much stuff he puts out there continually. it's probably a bad thing in some people's eyes but every release is still of a really good standard.
His stuff is of a high standard
but I just found myself thinking 'same old same old' when I was listening to it. I eventually switched it off and put the Silver ep on instead...
silver is fucking boss
I know what you mean though. He's got a bloody good song but he doesn't half recycle it...
Dr Dre,
his beats anyway.
I would say though that Jesu is one of those bands that really need
a decent system to get anything out it. It's all about the texture and the low frequencies.
Is this worth a spin-off thread?
I've been vaguely disappointed with every Jesu release ever.
BRING BACK CG GREEN, JUSTIN.
I prefer Final too, come to think of it. And Techno Animal.
GODFLESH FTW
We still say 'FTW' yeah?
*gc.
sorry, benny
