How easy is it to get back to central/east london from Kingston in the evening?
And what's The Fighting Cocks like as a venue?

i've always wondered about this
sometimes there's gigs in kingston i'd like to go to, but i just don't bother because of the transport hassle. i mean it might not be a hassle but i just see no tube option and think 'yeah big hassle'
They have a mainline train station
which I think goes to Clapham, and from Clapham the world! I imagine. Although I'm not too sure what time the trains end.
I live in Putney, so it's only a (30/40 minute) bus ride away. So at the worst, you could always get a bus to Putney and then another bus to Piccadilly if very late.
the trains run until midnightish i think
and there's a fairly regular nightbus from the bus station to trafalgar square. it takes usually somewhere between 45 and 75 minutes, usually depending on how much i want to get home.
Yep
the last train to Waterloo is about 23:40 I think, otherwise it's that night bus. Just don't get off at Vauxhall on the way and go to Fire.
i got off at Vauxhall once because i needed a piss
and i remembered the bus station has that outside urinal thing. realised after i'd finished that an old man had been watching me. then i had to wait half an hour for the next bus.
Train to Waterloo takes 25 minutes
So not too bad really.
The fighting cocks smells strongly of piss.

doable then?
The band I want to see is playing ROTA on the same day but I don't understand why Rota does not tell you how many bands are playing and at what times. Or should we just be grateful because it's a free thing?
rota is 4-8pm
and usually one band on at 5, one at 6 and one at 7
they tend to run pretty much on time, give or take the usual 15 minutes
if the bands aren't on the rota homepage, maybe check out which promoter is doing that week?
no info o nthe subject
it's ok though..I managed to wrangle myself out of a saturday shift at work, so I can make it for 4.
oh and thanks guys
the night bus info is useful..
Night bus is the N77 I think, which will take you to central
but it takes a while.
There may be another night but too but i can't remember the number, i think it goes through putney and into Knightsbridge though I could be wrong.
otherwise last train is prob best and quickest to Waterloo
