yes, i forgot about Deftones. Didn't know there was new Tool and Glassjaw due too, my sixteen year old self (that I haven't grown out of!) is really excited!
glassjaw have been promising for years
but www.glassjaw.net rumours and chat with band seem to indicate vocal tracking and mixing is going on. Tool have been writing most of this year.
ACTUALLY!! I forgot a big one. David botril is producing the new circa survive record and thats nearly done now.
Yeah really hope it gets released soon.
'You Think You're John Fucking Lennon' is amazing.
great news about Tool
i thought it'd be at least another year before we heard anything from them (five-year cycle and all)
circa survive..
from the video updates the new album is going to be amazing. can't wait for it.
mmmm
noisy. What's happening with that new Rival Schools album that was promised? Also, new 65 days of static is getting me moist already.
and lcs soundsystem lcd soundsystem lcd soundsystem!
Blink 182 definitely.
Also, I see Sublime have reformed with a new guitarist/singer. Wow.
what happend to the dub allstars?
split up in 2002
Archie Bronson Outfit
And maybe Baptist Generals will eventually come out with something new?
Are the Archie Bronson Outfit releasing a new album?
Fucking nice!
:)
The start of the year is gonna be amazing
Eels
Midlake
The long awaited debut album from Revere!
With any luck there will be something from SFA or Gruff next year.
Stornoway
First album promised next year. Great on Jools last night.
Final Fantasy
Interpol
Boards of canada (one can always dream)
Fleet foxes
My bloody Valentine (another big dream)
L I A R S >S I S T E R W O R L D<

FIELDY
The Offpsring
A load of new Hyperdub stuff promised for next year...
Darkstar
Ikonika
Burial
Kode9
Final Fantasy
Liars
^those+
Gemmy, Joker, Rustie, FLying Lotus, Roska, Starkey, Pantha Du Prince, Heny G, Taz Buckfaster, Breakage, Skream. I can't remember if I've missed any now... Mr Diver did a thread last week with loads of suggestions too if you can dig that out?
It would be quite cool to get a Joy Orbison album but...
he mentioned in an interview he wasn't up for doing one for a few years.
Do you intend to do an album any time in the near future, and do you have any idea how you'll approach it yet?
"I've been approached by a few labels in regard to an album but it's not really something I want to do at the moment. I'd much rather concentrate on releasing some really interesting records and maybe tackle an album in a few years. I'd like an album of mine to be like a conscious project rather than a collection of beats and at the moment I'm not sure if I could achieve that."

Unless he's changed his mind since.
i
hope he doesn't.
full-lengths suck... even martyn's and shed's, which i think are the best of a boring bunch, i can't be bothered to listen to.
his next 12" though... phewwweee.
also ... guido.
Martyn's was alright
not as amazing as his 12"s though but going back to it the other day again made me think it was solid, 2562 pulled of a brilliant one this year so did Silkie. FaltyDL's was brilliant too. Those are my fave's I think along with Hudson Mohawke.
Dance peeps usualy work best with 12"s and EPs though esspecialy when they are just getting started like Joy Orbison, I mean one 12" and people fancy and album from him.... give him a break! His next 12" sounds ace you're right.
The Guido 12" is something else it feels like ages since I first heard those tunes but they just don't get old.
I'm looking forward to
the new Belle and Sebastian LP!
Ah, didn't know that was coming out.
Radiohead's LP is out next year too
I'm really looking forward to These New Puritans' new album.
I just read up on The Young Veins and, yes, I'd like to hear that very very very soon, please.
Limp Bizkit, Deftones, Blink 182, Glassjaw, Radiohead, Head Automatica, Elbow?, DEP
etc
Didn't know head automatica were releasing a new 'un.
Hope it's better than what I heard on Popaganda, that was gash.
there's all sorts of varied news about anything Daryl's involved in, but they are meant to have one out fairly soon.
I've heard a few demos on youtube, which sound pretty cool. But then i like most of Popaganada, probably more than Decadance these days.
I heard it was all done already
and off to be mastered
...
Definites:
Eels
Final Fantasy
Vampire Weekend
Spoon
Los Campesinos
Hot Chip
Frightened Rabbit
Liars
Belle and Sebastian
The National
Probables/Possibles:
Joanna Newsom
Sufjan Stevens
Low (they rarely go more than 2-3 years between records)
Boredoms (Thrill Jockey's page on them says there'll be one)
Deerhoof (Two years in a row without a Deerhoof album? Impossible surely!)
Less possibles:
Radiohead
Portishead
More hope than expectation:
The Avalanches
I wouldn't put Sufjan in that category.. sadly
I dunno
Despite his existential crisis of late, he HAS debuted a few new songs over the last month or so. It's possible he'll release SOMETHING new, even if it isn't an album per se. He may do something like Modest Mouse and release a few EPs and then compile 'em or something like that. I hope. I hope.
It makes me sad.
Nobody has mentioned that Menomena has talked a bit about working on new stuff, but I don't know how much that's gonna hold up, since he was talking about a new one in '09 last year.
Oh yeah
LCD Soundsystem as well in that first category
Aphex Twin
Battles
no one has mentioned sigur ros yet
them and radiohead are the two im most interested in along with fleet foxes the national and sufjan stevens (which i doubt will heppen)
If the new live tracks are recorded well then Foals.

also, Minus the Bear, Liars and Jaguar Love
Errors
'Come down with me' - 15th Feb
(early contender for album name of 2010!)
a) damn your nimble fingers,
b) you're right, it is the 15th,
and c) I'm still very excited about it.
If their ATP performance was anything to go by
the new album will be brilliant.
Errors' new record is out Feb 10th, can't wait
Also excited for Dillinger Escape Plan, Battles, 65daysofstatic (the new stuff on the April 'test' tour was wicked), Vampire Weekend, Hot Chip and Frightened Rabbit.
Delphic

2010 really is shaping up well. Think/ hope there will be less focus on NEW SHINY things
and more on bands releasing 2nd/ 3rd albums.
Have these been mentioned so far?
MGMT
Lightspeed Champion
The Kills
Field Music
Mystery Jets
Foals
Late Of The Pier
Bloood Red Shoes
as well as the possibility of a Radiohead record and the potentially amazing or awful Christina Aguilera album w/ Ladytron.
Duke Nukem Forever: The Soundtrack
The new Chrome Hoof album!
Also hoping the new Plus-Tech Squeeze Box album will finally see the light of day - not holding my breath though, Vroom Sound told me in late '08 that it was due in early '09... :(

Aren't Rolo Tomassi supposed to be bringing out an album next year?
Also I hope and pray Grumbling Furs finish their album next years as well.
According to the drummer of Pulled Apart By Horses...
Rolo Tomassi are in LA recording with Diplo, looking forward to hearing what they come up with together!

I'm most looking forward to this. I really really hope Rick Rubin can return them to their former 'Tres Hombres' glory and Dan Auerbach tells them off if they play anything that's a bit shit.
I have high hopes, and an expectation that they're going to be dashed.
I've done a little blog post on this if you fancy a lunchtime read
http://itsgettingboringbythesea.blogspot.com/
**END JAG**
I forgot The Jesus & Mary Chain said they were working on an album
Apparently they've been working on it since 2008, so it'd be pretty good if they could release it in 2010. And it'd be pretty good if it's, y'know, good.
there hasn't been a bad one yet
Pretty much all been covered except...
The Walkmen... can't wait for a follow up to You & Me
Interpol
Looking for Arcade Fire and TVOTR to redeem themselves (dunno if TVOTR will release an album, even though it fits with their two year gaps)
Besnard Lakes- has the potential to be brilliant.
MBV would be amazing if they release something new, but the fact they haven't played anything new so far makes me pretty apprehensive
New Swans?
Mazzy Star comeback album!
New Lilys album
re: Besnard Lakes
what is happening with these guys?? haven't heard much of anything in the way of news since ...Dark Horse
no mention of Beach House yet
Got their new album sent through today, rather good indeed (out january). Fionn Regan's is decent too.
Medulla mentioned Martin Grech; would kill for a new album by him.
My Vitriol? (lol)
Arcade Fire
My Bloody Valentine (pleeeaaaasse)
Daft Punk are overdue even by their standards
That Yeasayer single has me pumped for the LP
Final Fantasy
Battles
LCD Soundsystem
Fleet Foxes?
..I think The Olivia Tremor Control are recording slowly. That would make my year.
The Grassroots Dubstep EP/LP in aid of Love Music Hate Racism
Independent niche Music Network, Carbon Logic, has just hit the deadline of their latest Competition.
I can't wait to hear the results - some seriously crazy bass inspired music !
Guest Judges Nick Argon, BunZer0, Twisted and Will Blaze & THC are busy honing all their lists down to the final 20 track shortlist.
I think the winning tracks will be announced next week.
Carbon Logic will be releasing a 12 track Digital Compilation LP alongside the Grassroots Dubstep EP - all profits are going to Love Music Hate Racism.
The Grassroots Release aims to compile a snapshot of the splintering genres of dubstep, bass music and beyond as we hit 2010..
So that's one I definitely want to hear !
Quivering with anticipation on hearing The Butterfly Explosion's debut is due early next year.
Also - Autolux - can they top Future Perfect? I'd like them to try
Babylon Zoo
haven't panic at the disco
split up?
erm,
from what i can gather, its just the singer/drummer left now.
Everything Everything
Ellie Goulding
Late of the Pier
This Town Needs Guns

This Town Needs Guns
I keep my fingers crossed. I saw them in Glasgow recently and they had a new song. When I spoke to the singer he didn't mention an entire new album but there you go.
I hope it's not bullshit.
Also: Yndi Halda ^_^
things im looking forward to
thom yorks solo album
sound of guns debut album
detroit social club debut album
Not 1 mention of...
