Green Day
Im quite tempted by this,
if its not going to be a ridiculous price, also i hope they pick as great support bands (apart from hard-fi) as there mk show a few years ago.
apparently
they played at the Garage last night.
THE GARAGE.
i'm not exactly a Green Day fan, but that would've killed so much.
*The Relentless Garage
Whaaat seriously??
That would off been immense. what was it, a fanclub/industry thing?
it was their side project, the Foxboro Hot Tubs.
I was there! It fucking rocked!
Also, Billie Joe crowd surfed right into me and we sang together on the mic for a bit - just simply amazing for me being a big fan.
I might be going to this or the Manchester one..
Went to see them at the MEN Arena on Saturday... it was ace, and they did a brief 'support' slot as Foxboro Hot Tubs (only time they did that apart from the one at the Garage as mentioned above).
I even knew a few of the songs, which was surprising as I haven't listened to anything of theirs after 'Dookie' (my girlfriend bought the tickets as she's a massive fan).
ALSO
Apparently it's £40, and starts at 12 so will be some kind of all-day effort? WEIRD. But potentially GOOD.
Bets there's a Paramore/blink-182 type massive support band
If so
my girlfriend will probably soil herself with excitement.
And I will just have some more beer.
warped tour
I saw them in Birmingham last week
The show was total panto. But the most entertaining panto I've ever seen. I'd love to go to this.
£42.50 standing tickets for wembley stadium - get in!
i got 4 standing tickets for £42.50 each - saw them in 05 at milton keynes and a couple of weeks ago at the 02 london cannot wait for this gig though it will be epic! i heard that standing tickets also give you access to lower tier seating though which is a good thing as i will be almost 7 months pregnant!!! cannot miss it though :)
I'm afraid I can't make it.
I'm spending the night jabbing myself in the testes with a rusty fork. I'll listen to Jeremy's 'Fuck You Bush' from Peep Show to make sure I'm not missing out on Greenday's important political message though.
I saw them a week or two ago at the o2
and they were extremely entertaining.
However my sister won't let me book tickets because the nephew will have exams around that time. In short, I dunno.
I did get a bit bored after 1.5 hours though.
Great stage presence etc.
I used to like Green Day was I was 14 (15 years ago)...
Now if you are 12 you are probably too old and mature to listen to their new stuff. They are awful now.
They aren't though
Just because they're all polished and mainstream doesn't stop the songs being good
Even though they've always been in the mainstream but you know what I mean
In 1994 Dookie sold zillions...
Probably still their biggest selling album, very mainstream, but excellent. Their new stuff is just not for anyone who has gone through puberty... and it's embarrassing shite.
Lyrically it is I suppose
