Aren't Cold Cave really quite decent?
Recently got a download of their vinyl release 'Love Comes Close' and I am very impressed. Lots of influences here, Gary Numan, (very early New Order) and so on - lovin' it at the moment. Very promising debut.

yes..
this is very true, Love Comes Close is a damn fine album, some really lovely moments on it.
it's rather ace
though I prefer the rougher edges of Cremations
I have to admit to not loving Cremations
I like a bit of song in my music.
But Love Comes Close is fab. Not just the early New Order, but some tracks are darkwave through and through — borderline industrial, even. Plus, Life Magazine is one of the best slices of electropop released this year.
On tour now
Looking forward to the london show at white heat on tuesday
can't wait for this
Only heard about them....maybe yesterday??
Missed their Edinburgh show. fuggin' gutted.
Has anyone seen them live before?
production on the record hints that they could go 1 of 2 ways live
Not my bag normally
but I am hella excited about seeing them in Bath this friday.
i saw them with prurient
really really good. still haven't heard love comes close tho!
will.buy.now
rather oddly, 4 or 5 magicians are supporting
not entirely sure how we're gonna go down, but hopefully we won't get bottled off! See you there...
Amazing!
Grab me for a drink before/after yeah?
I got Love Comes close this morning
I really like it, and I'm looking forward to seeing them at The Corner in Manchester on Thursday.
Life Magazine is one of my favourite tracks of 2009.
Life Magazine is perfection, no?
One of the bands of 09 for me
Just got a copy of their limited release EP 'Death Comes Close', and the 3 new tracks are great - carrying on in the same vein as the Love Comes Close material.
I enjoy the Cremations material too, and I think it'd be great if they could further combine the the rougher edges with the pop sound on whatever they do next.
Wrote some words on Cold Cave here http://fingersbecomethumbs.wordpress.com/

i like 'em and was sad i couldn't go to optimo to see them on sunday
it has caralee wot used to be in xiu xiu in them, so they must be good. Seems to me that they really want to be Swans, although I dunno if i'm just concentrating too much on the cover art.
I think you've nailed why I like them
they do sound a bit like late 80s Swans. The aesthetic is the same as well.
Rrrreallly?
Hm. Which late 80's Swans would you recommend I start with?
The Great Annihilator.
I still can't believe that it's Wes Eisold from Some Girls/GUTG.
What a guy <3
any body tell me were i can get the E.P that they have just released on matador
in the uk can't find on rough trade norman ect if you like love comes close you should look into ye old maids on art fag records Wesley Eisold solo project
