We're here!
Sonisphere 2009 - The DiS Review
STAAAAAAAAAAAAAGE TIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIMES

Am I going to regret not taking tomorrow morning off?
should be normal gig times,
but i will try to get full set times...
is there any prospect of them doing an irish date before the year is out?
times
Doors 7pm
DJ Andrew Weatherall 7pm-8.15pm
Clark 8.15pm to 9pm
DJ Andrew Weatherall 9pm-9.30pm
Fuck Buttons 9.30pm
Curfew 10.45pm
had i known the stage times before...
i would be coming along, as heaven is a club i presumed this would be a late one so i would miss the last train home. too late (and lazy) to organise myself now.
next time....
Gadget, next time
If they don't play Olympians
I'll leave in a strop
there are about 30 tickets left, going to be up on ticketweb
asap i believe and then available on the door if they aren't sold out by tonight

I am going to this.
<cloak>
I'd love to go to this but I have to do adult things :(
I can't go to gigs every night or I'll have no time to pay bills and defrost my freezer!
This was so fucking good
Clark was amazing, loved the 15 or so people down the front losing their shit.
Fuck Buttons have got a million times better since I last saw them (Pitchfork ATP) - so loud, amazing lightshow, everything. I'm gushing this morning. Hard.
^this, basically
Chris Clark was amazing and has really upped his game since I last saw him. Fuck Buttons were terrific, although the crowd were a little restrained compared to when I’ve seen them before. Perhaps it was the fact that they came on at 9.30 on a Tuesday night (rather than last up at ATP or something), but I think that some of it might have been down to the fact that the set wasn’t paced quite as well as it sometimes has been. Awesome stuff though.
Oh, and it was one of those gigs where I ended up bumping into loads of people that I knew, which was really fun. I feel that I should apologise to Andy/restlessboy for scaring him though.
People down the front were really going for it
Lots of dancing etc. There was also a lot of people on "the drugs" from what I could see.
Did anyone see the girl in the sunglasses and hat just waving her hands in the air for the entire duration? She was on my bus home and was sat there nodding her head. To nothing.
Like Tyres from Spaced?
Incredible.
was it
the black girl in the hat and the sunglasses?
we got there pretty early and she seemed well up for it, must have danced on an empty floor for a whole hour.
was a good gig, good crowd, amazing support, blinding lights.
It certainly was!
Haha! I saw her
She was definitely on one.
I really enjoyed the gig once I got to the front where there seemed to be much more space than anywhere else in the room. Was stuck in the middle squashed like a sardine unable to move (apart from perhaps slightly nod my head a little) for the first ten minutes which wasn't very enjoyable.
Glad they finished on Sweet Love for Plant Earth which they've not played the last few times I've seen them
Not nearly enough dancing...
Fuck Buttons were laying down 4/4 techno stomp noise that would make Derrick May proud, and the crowd just stood there like a bunch of trainspotters. Get hip, folks, and shake a leg! Look, there, it's Andy Weatherall, you boring mongs!
Still, I got wise, stomped my way to the front and had a whale of a time with the girls on pills and the funny little dreadlocked techno gnome (respect).
Might go see them tomorrow in Atlanta, as it's 3 miles from my house.
One of the busiest gigs I've been to in a while
Also, I never knew Fuck Buttons had so many portly middle aged male men for fans. Clutching to wistfully to pints of watery lager whilst singing along nonsensically to 'Sweet Love for Planet Earth'. Weird.
'male men'?
I'm going to bed
a really good show
I wanted to check out the new stuff live even though I'm not so much into FB.
Cheers for marckee for grabbing one of the last tickets on the door!
re: those old blokes...yeh they seemed a bit rough when people were trying to get to the front by shoving people in every direction. I Couldn't believe it was so packed right to the back. But once you squeezed passed and took a few hits to the back of the head the front was not really that packed...so it was a nice easying vibe down at the front which made the whole thing enjoyable. I was completely sober and I still had fun, which I haven't experienced at a gig in a long while.
ach i was right at the back
because i thought i'd be able to catch you when you came in, i've never been so hot and cramped in a gig for quite a while. and it was so loud, i'm rueing forgetting my earplugs, ears are still muffled and left ones ringing a bit, hopefully that'll go away soon. :S
I really enjoyed it
only criticism was it not being loud enough.
