Oops, that's in London
y'know
I need to come back to London for this
Any idea whether Vladislav will be playing any more dates (ie come to Bristol!)?
Probably not this year
unfortunately, he's a busy man! I saw the Moritz von Oswald Trio at Fabric last week and they were superb!
Can;t wait for this
Fail HDJ added to the bill
And an £8 guest list has been created - just email ben@jointhecircle.net to get on this list.
For those that haven't seen the wonderful new video for 'Toive', from Vladislav Delay's Tummaa, check it out here:

Is anyone a fan of Food?
I must confess, I've never heard them. Can anyone recommend me any of their stuff?
Vladislav Delay should be pretty cool though. I wonder how much pre-Tumaa stuff he'll do?
The promoters have put together a free download EP
of all 3 bands, which can be accessed here:

Thank you very much. I'll have a listen to that.
I got Molecular Gastronomy as well from Rune Grammofon last night, if anyone else is looking, and that's sounding pretty great so far. Bit more traditionally jazzy than Tumma and Vertical Ascent.
I just found Food on Spotify
http://open.spotify.com/artist/5UH0MJYNrZoaqu9P0A3SII
Apparently guest guitarist Mark Wingfield will be joining Food regulars Iain Ballamy and Thomas Stronen
I dunno about this...
I'm tempted though, chances of tickets on the door?
Yup there should be some
There are cheaper tickets available as well:

£8 tickets sounds like just the, um, ticket.
I've sent an e-mail.
A podcast preview has been made available for this show:

I don't suppose you know stage times yet?
Aye
Eyebrow 7.15-7.45
Vladislav Delay 8.10-9.10
Food 9.30-10.30

Pretty interesting, he's going back into the studio with Moritz von Oswald soon as well... Well looking forward to this evening's show, should be excellent.
I'm greatly looking forward to this
I saw MVoT at Fabric a few weeks back and it was fantastic. I hope the sound is as good tonight!
What did people think?
Grr
I really enjoyed it, thought Vladislav Delay was the best thing there. I couldn't help but find some of Lucio Capece's sax and clarinet preparations pretty funny though, especially when the whole thing is done with such a straight face.
I'm sure at one point the stack on top looked like this: Kitchen roll - Strange metal thing - Coffee tin - Tiny ball bearing - Odd little drumstick - Vibrator.
It was a while back now but I thought it was great.
Wasn't Lucio Capece using a box of cdrs to do an Evan Parker-esque circular breathing at one point? He was great, I thought, I enjoyed the clicking noises he was making, and I think it made a fascinating dynamic to see the music physically performed, and at the same time, hear this quite ethereal, processed thing come from the speakers.
I though Vladislav's whole set was great though, especially the last couple of tracks, even though I thought it could have been a bit louder, it was still really immersive and evocative. When I got up, I heard one lady say something about 'religious experience' which is maybe a bit too far but I certainly was transported, as it were. One of the things which was really great was how busy and multi-layered his sound is as well.
I think I preferred Food's set before they were joined by the guitarist, although that had some lovely moments. I think I'd have to agree that Delay was my favorite too but Food were fantastic, especially Thomas Stronen on the drums. His use of electronics was pretty clever and well-integrated as well. The way Bellamy's sax and flute interacted with these odd, surprising little glitches and beeps was also interesting to watch. The slightly more conventional, lyrical quality to Bellamy's sax, was also quite welcoming after the bizarreness of Lucio Capece's preparations.
Really lovely venue though; all gigs should serve tea. Arctic Circle are obviously fantastic. Looking forward to The Bubbly Blue and Green festival thing at King's Place in 2010. I'd love to see Philip Jeck, but have never got round to going down to Dalston.
