How many of your favourite bands have you seen live
using the overall top artists list on last.fm, divide into two sections the bands you've seen live and ones you haven't.
Artists i've seen live:
Animal Collective, Deerhunter, MBV, SY, Les Savy Fav, Liars, Yo La Tengo, M83, No Age, QOTSA, Jesus and Mary Chain, Shellac, Times New Viking, High Places, Aphex Twin, The Cribs, LCD Soundsystem, Mono, Jeffrey Lewis, Why?, Interpol, The Horrors, Crystal Castles, Women, Lightning Bolt, Black Lips, Justice, HEALTH = 28 out of 50
Artists still touring (who i can possibly see e.g. not dead) who i have yet to see:
Radiohead, Pixies, Mogwai (will be amended on Saturday), Throwing Muses, Weezer, EITS, of Montreal, The Magnetic Fields, Portishead, Wu-Tang Clan, Echo & the Bunnymen, Flying Lotus = 12
12 more to go, i reckon, with those bands, that might take me 4 years to do, barring any personal financial meltdowns.

pretty obvious i'm bored at quarter past 6 in the morning
Mogwai
prepare to be blown away
hopefully
but it is field day, as long as it's loud enough.
I don't use last-fm.
So, I dunno. About 81%.
Don't bother with Last.fm
but I'll never see Godspeed You! Black Emperor, The Smiths or American Football. Which is a bit crap, if you're me.
does djing count for seeing a band 'live',
in your list?
there's an anomaly in my charts which causes Nick Cave AND the bad seeds to appear as well as Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds. for this reason there will 49 artists listed below.

sorry bored...and many, many more.........
Most of my favourite bands/singers split up before I was born.
Though I have managed to see Radiohead, Blur, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Arctic Monkeys, Happy Mondays and The Libertines (although it was when Peter had been thrown out and they had a replacement), who are all in my top 20 favourite artists.
I'd really like to see The Strokes, The Kills and The White Stripes, and I'll never get to see The Velvet Underground, The Beatles, Led Zeppelin, The Jimi Hendrix Experience, The Smiths, The Stone Roses or Joy Division.
..and The Specials, I was so chuffed they re-united.
Although it's still possible for me to see David Bowie and The Stones, I imagine it wouldn't be anywhere near as good as it might have been on the 70s/80s.
I forgot The Doors aswell
I'm so sorry. I always spoil threads and I don't even use last.fm to do this properly.

Want to see: Andrew Bird, The National, Cats In Paris, Deerhunter, Maps & Atlases, Times New Viking, My Bloody Valentine
Won't see: The Smiths
I'll swap My Bloody Valentine, Times New Viking, Deerhunter and maybe even Cats in Paris
for GBV and Pavement
No can do, brother.
Those shows are very precious to me.
I genuinely can't think of any bands I'd swap them for.
from my profile fav bands
Devo, Johnny Foreigner, I've seen the magic band but not Beefheart, Lucky Dragons, Jam on Bread, Mission of Burma, Battles, The Handsome Family, Morrissey, yacht, dirty projectors, gay against you, Cats in Paris, Ace Bushy Striptease. I'm sure I've seen other favourite bands but can't think off the top of my head.
A list? Go on, then...
