Remain in Light
Cheers.
ooh
never even saw that band - ever
good one
with adrian belew and eno right?
If they're available, then sure, they can tag along.
Remain in Light
Was gonna put that too. Seeing David Byrne at The Barbican soon. He played four tracks off RiL when I last saw him and they sounded great.

As an idea
I'd like to see The Velvet Underground reform and perform the Andy Warhol album. Nico's parts on the 3 songs could be done by say...Patti Smith, Marianne Faithfull and Diamanda Galas. I'd pay for that.
who's going to replace morrison?
Damn
I actually had no idea he was dead. Well there goes that idea.
Still a great idea
I'm sure we could find a replacement guitarist. Get Andrew WK to do it.
Or guitarist for hire du jour
Johnny Marr
that works for me
Serious answer:
probably "Brighten The Corners" by Pavement. And before people start saying "Blah-de-Blah Watsit is their magnum opus, n00b", that was the album I got first. It'd be like watching a gig in the company of 16-year-old me.
ahh
It might sound sweet
but I bet 16-year-old me would be an annoying gig companion. He'd keep pestering grown-up me to buy him drinks, for starters.
but you must admit that Blah-de-Blach Whatsit is without question their tour de force.
whoa
you have the Blah-de-Blah Watsit 10" ?!??! Get outta here, that's like rocking horse shit!
Clearly their best work, Mr. Mahone.By a long shot.
Rocket From The Crypt - RFTC
Oh hell yeah
This needs to happen
...
I'll have Pinkerton thanks
"Dead Can Dance" by Dead Can Dance.
THAT'S WHAT I THINK OF YOUR RULES
Great album!
Didn't think I'd say a DiS into that kind of stuff. I have to say I was always more of a fan of black tape for a blue girl though.
I Can Hear The Heart Beating As One
Remian in the Light
You're Living All Over Me
Tago Mago
Drum's Not Dead
Rated R
sorry i didn't realise it was just one
if so then probably the first one.
Nice choices!
I fully agree with each of these.
would love all those too (especially Drum's Not Dead w/ the videos)

Blue Album
I prefer TOTBL but Blue would be tremendous.
totbl - yes
i've seen them do every song on that except "obstacle 2" & "untitled".
that would be one depressing gig
you'd have to take shades and wear interesting shoes
You've seen them do Leif Erikson?
so so jealous
That would just be mind-blowing from start to finish
And I don't think I could ever watch another gig afterwards!
Doolittle
And I'm gonna
Hissing Fauna, Are You The Destroyer? or Come On, Feel The Illinoise
I reckon both are fairly likely in 10 or so years time.
X-Ray Spex - Germfree Adolescents
Kid Eh.
I saw this
on the first Fantomas tour at the LA2.
was truely mind-blowing.
You Lucky Duck!
I passed on that tour. Got asked by a workmate to go and was to lazy to do it.
kicked myself everyday since
I'd like to see Yourcodenameis:milo reform
and play 'Ignoto'.
Without a shadow of a doubt,
In The Aeroplane Over The Sea.
If this ever happens, I will be spending a lot of money to go and witness it.
i want to see the album cover performed
Public Image Ltd
Metal Box
Up The Bracket
And then never hear anything about them as a band or individuals ever again.
Or Drukqs.
Prince
Sign O' The Times or Kate Bush - Hounds of Love.
Both of those would be amazing
I'm sure I read the other day that Kate Bush only ever went on tour once, about thirty years ago.
I believe that is correct
the show was such a spectacle that the logistics were going to be too difficult to keep reproducing and improving the shows/tours, if I remember rightly.
Trans Europe Express - Kraftwerk
or maybe:
Rum, Sodomy and the Lash - The Pogues
As far as I know, none of them are dead.
ffs
why did this end up here?
I agree with Oh, Hissing Fauna, are you the destroyer?
It works as a concept album what with his mind going from bad to good through the album, in simple terms, which would be wicked to hear live.
Also,
To add something of interest, i would love to see For emma, forever ago played front to back, it has such a strong anrrative running throuhg it without consciously seeming to try.
Methinks Bon Iver
does play For Emma in its entirety: I distinctly remember dude saying "that's pretty much every song we know...thanks, good night."
It's revival weekend pour moi: so I actually might get to see an old great record performed
Friday I'd like to see X do Los Angeles and Sunday I wanna see Blondie do Parallel Lines. County Fair, doncha know. All this plus funnel cake=yay!
Wilder- The teardrop explodes
Julian's not dead,is he? Also, Turn on the brigth lights by Interpol
Julian's not dead- far from it
Couldn't face a world without him.
such a cool choice
Hanged Up
Kicker in Tow
No wait
Aphex Twin - Richard D James
vision creation newsun
Jane Doe
PLEASE. Doubt Jake's vocal chords would survive it though.
Would be amazing to see the album perfomed chronologically
it's too bad they never do Hell to Pay or Phoenix in Flight/ Phoenix in Flames live.
fucking good choice
Sonic Youth - Washing Machine
Kyuss - Welcome To Sky Valley
preferably in the middle of the desert, with amps powered by generators and everyone passing around bottles of whiskey and dope.
Either that or Minutemen's Double Nickels. Plenty of bang for your buck.
"the desert sessions" (my Son talks about how cool to have seen those)
I had a ticket to see Minutemen at a bar in Chicago. Two shows that night and I had a ticket for the second show. When I got to the bar, it was dark and quite inside and a sign on the door said that the police had turned off the power so the 2nd show was cancelled.
a few months later D. Boon died
: O
I would have wept, sir...wept.
NHM
In a aeroplane over the sea
Liars-Drums Not Dead.
I would also like to see it performed in the original recording facility. That would be the craziest thing ever.
or with the videos on an amazing NIN-esque TV curtains
or a cheesy corporate meeting powerpoint presentation type video
but yes, Drum"s Not Dead
fugazi - red medicine
but i second ITAOTS, id pay a fortune for that, a fortune
Kenickie- At The Club
including Montrose Gimps It Up For Charity.
Blue Valentine by Tom Waits
but done as a kind of theatrical stage show like he did in the late 70s.
Raw Power, quite obviously.
Why aren't people mentioning good albums?
Fucking hell, I meant to click reply. Fail.
What I intended to say was: "Nobody anywhere likes good music, at all."
OK
Viva Hate
happy?
Bringing It All Back Home
just because a lot of those songs were never played live... any by a lot i mean a few but it's the ones that i'd want to see - bob dylan'ss 115th dream, on the road again, outlaw blues, subterranean...
Would you recognise them though?
oh pish posh you can recognize the songs as they are now.. you just have to have a good ear.
plus if i was getting my way, it would be as the album was...
Impossible Princess -- Kylie
and I'd love to see The Cure play Faith, Pornography and Disintegration in their entirety and in sequence BUT only if it's they used a time machine to bring in the band(s) as they were at the time they were originally touring the albums.
PS Trilogy is a real disappointment.
Peter Murphy - Deep
Ride - Going Blank Again
PJ Harvey - Stories from the City, Stories from the Sea
Asleep in the Bread Aisle- Asher Roth
Seriously though?
Ire Works by Dilllinger Escape Plan would be incredible, Pinkerton is also up there but I'd happily become homeless if it meant seeing In A aeroplane Over The Sea by Neutral Milk Hotel.
Reformations required...
Kick Up The Fire and Let The Flames Break Loose
Oh, and the Neon Handshake by Hell is for Heroes.
Gutted I didn't go to some of the Idlewild album shows actually.
kent-isola (english version)
i went to all the idlewild shows, they were amazing.
Damn you!
jimmy eat world - clarity
which they DID perform in its entirety, but only in America. Fuckers.
Also:
Gentlemen by the Afghan Whigs
In The Aeroplane Over The Sea
Frame And Canvas by Braid
Endserenading by Mineral
Do You Know Who You Are by Texas Is The Reason
Emergency & I by the Dismemberment Plan
Forgot about Clarity
I've seen a few Youtubes of Goodbye Sky Harbor where they take out the sampled/drum machine outro, I wouldn't enjoy a live runthrough if that wasn't there.
ooh, Gentlemen.Yeah, thats their bestest.
The Streets - A Grand Don't Come For Free
would work really well as a film / musical imo
Pink floyd - Animals
Down - Nola
Squarepusher - Feed me weird things
...god there is some many more but that is all I can think of now!
Lifeforms - Future Sound of London
accompanied by visual imagery in line with the video they released at the time the album came out.
abbey road.
Even if it's only paul doing it.
: )
ahh
The Drift by Scott Walker
I changed my mind. This would be amazing. Why oh why did he not play any shows for this album?!
Down with this sort of thing....
I've never been to a Don't Look Back and I'm a bit put off by them.
If I had to choose one off the top of my head tho... Radiator by SFA. With added time machines to take me back to 97
Transformer
The Berlin show was pretty good but Transformer would be...
you lucky bastard
I'd rather see Lou do Metal Machine Music, with Merzbow guesting.
hehe, very interesting
only a certain kind of mind could have thought of that
Veedon Fleece - Van Morrison (would be shit now probably)
Ragin' Full On - fIREHOSE
Against the Grain - Bad Religion
Illinoise - Sufjan Stevens
Fear - John Cale
Fits - White Denim
Eureka - Jim O'Rourke
Moon & Antartica
by Modest Mouse would make me very happy.
Moon & Antarctica
Modest Mouse, would be brilliant!¬
I had a hunch you were going to say that
: )
Music has the right to children
I can dream..
Introspective/ pet shop boys
with trevor horn on piano and frankie knuckles on turntables and a big choir on backing vocals. you'd get in free if you'd dyed your hair any one of the colours on the sleeve art.
The Drift - Scott Walker
The Queen Is Dead - The Smiths
Drums Not Dead - Liars
Can I be really cheeky and say that although not technically an album as such I think that the greatest show I could ever imagine is Bikini Kill play "The Singles" from start to finish in a tiny grotty 50 capacity basement... I would lose my shit like a motherfucker for those 17 minutes!!!!
Arab Strap - Philophobia
Would be perfect from start to finish.
Better now for the fact that Aidan just keeps sounding more Scottish with age and Malcolm's live guitar work is even more confident.
Bee Thousand
Would be super, In The Aeroplane Over The Sea or any Pavement LP would be an equal-sized treat though.
F# A# (Infinity)
If not that then "Things We Lost in the Fire"... gutted I missed the Don't look back show, a few years ago.
Husker Du
Doing any of their albums (although that would be a pretty short show in some cases) If pushed then "New Day Rising" would get the vote.
Also
Therapy? - Troublegum
China Drum - Goose Fair
Nine Inch Nails - Pretty Hate Machine
Kyuss - Welcome To Sky Valley
